Do you even have any idea how expensive ammo is in Austria?
50 rounds of cheap *** 8x57 (which is the pretty much standard hunting calibre) cost ca 60

... but it also maybe another form of gun control, if they can't take away our guns, they'll take away our ammo!
Going off topic...
This is why I am buying my .22LR now. I would imagine that my $18 box will soon be $36 or so.
After CA's new law goes into place, I will not buy any more .22LR as it will be classified as pistol ammo. When that happens, records of all pistol ammo sales will be kept. And no mail ordering of it either. I won't bother with it.
...
Also, does anyone know of any modern bolt action .22LR rifles for $200 or less new?
I've been reloading for quite a while and I have to say that it per round you get pay about half.I think the reason why ammo prices are up 57029485823759257327532759285823759- is mainly because of rising metal prices around the world, but it also maybe another form of gun control, if they can't take away our guns, they'll take away our ammo!
Thats why I want to get into reloading, although its a complicated process, and usually the ammo works for the reloaders own gun but not for others in the same caliber.
I also want to save like several rounds from every box of ammo I shoot, and save it in a mini stockpile.

And reloaded ammo works for any gun, unless you have a surplus rifles that has a slightly oversized chamber (rimm locking rifles like the SMLE or the Mosin Nagants are notorious for this) and want to stick the cases into another gun that has a slightly smaller chamber.
But the adjustable stock is a need and the G-36's integrated optics are antique by now.Going off topic...

On topic. HK's SCAR:
They could have saved a lot of money and submitted this:
At least the G-36 doesn't look ugly.

There are some match pistols that shoot specialized ammo. I have a .45 cal Colt 58 match series that shoots a specialized round. Have to be careful when I take people out shooting that they don't grab just any magazine with .45's in it. I'll bet your friend has something similar.Well I guy I know who reloads 45's only worked in his gun for some reason.
And about ammo prices, like I was saying, I think its another form of gun control, so guns aren't "banned", but it becomes a rich boys toy.
Wasn't the SA80 based in part off of this? If so then maybe it wasn't very good, the SA80 series certainly isn't.This looks somewhat old worldly and rugged, but also precise and modern - i bet at the time it was even more striking

....it's a shame it never made production, in hindsight phaps it should have.
sad really, looks fantastic and may have turned out to be one of the greats.
