The rifle grenade isn't that simple to use. One would have to put on the adapter, place the grenade into the holder, insert the special round into the rifle, and only then would he be ready to fire it.

So thanks to the miracle of the keyboard we have...
1. Mount Bayonet Key. (attach adapter)
2. Reload Key. (insert grenade and load the cartridge)
3. Left Mouse Button. (ploomp!)
That assumes, of course, that we're firing a Kar98k with a grenade cup. The PzB couldn't mount a grenade cup and the GrB had its cup permanently attached. In either case, it isn't a difficult proposition for a player to control. Furthermore the Russians had their own Mosin-fired rifle grenades for a little balance.

Since RO2 is not that fast-paced, I think having the full 'put on cup' animation (not the 'cup' video

I think that would be over kill, they werent that common. One per team would be better. I am not sure if I would even be happy with that.
To be honest. When I think about it. There is actually no point of rifle grenades. Esspecially in places like Stalingrad where the enemy is normally constantly at a grenades throw away, a normal grenade is fine. I don't really see the point having them in if you have to assemble them (and I'm not saying that they should have them in without having to assemble them)
Hoffman is correct. They were very rare weapons. Maybe not Mkb42 rare, but rare enough to hardly be used "1 per platoon". (team sized)
I don't get your point Jorg. We're talking about AT weapons. And I don't really think that tank will be at "nade throw" distance most of the time. PTRD is in game for a reason.
Right now germans don't have any effective ranged infantry AT weapons. PzB 39 is laughable against T34, GL has very short range and is not effective either. Rifle grenades coupled with GrB 39 seem quite obvious choice for specialised AT role in german team. Especially on maps where tanks can create some space between them and infantry or where approaching flanks is nearly impossible thanks to enemy infantry.
Russians can take out Pz III/IV from 250-300m with side shots. Germans can't actually do anything outside 30m range, unless they just aim for the optics - the only vulnerable thing in T34.
Oh, BTW, I destroying tracks german heavies with PTRD in standard RO was IMO too easy, because german or russian tracks were held together by 1 very long bolt that went through many connecting parts.

Unlike shermans which had those "links" on the sides of the track (so it was possible to tear a track down by destroying 1 "link").
So, if I'm not wrong, PzB 39 is useless even against T34 tracks even if someone manages to score multiple hits to 1 bolt ( since bolt is round and thick I don't think it would get broken in multiple pieces, more likely just dented here and there).

The grenade launcher, the Schiessbecher, for the Kar98K was quite common and almost 1.5 million were produced during the war so it should be present in every rifle squad and not just one per team providing it is adopted in RO:HOS of course.
