The location of the bread bags are in the wrong location, they shouldn't be in the middle of their backs but on their right side. If you have actually worn one you want to be able to reach it, especially your canteen. They should be right behind your ammo pack. Also, there are no canteen cups, idk if that would be a resource issue or not.

Going a little off-topic here, but I really love the variation in gear from soldier to soldier.

Breadbag right next to your pouches can be highly uncomfortable during low crawl and some other combat related movement, especially if you have already notable load of eguipment. Generally speaking the effort it takes to lean sideways and use your hand to grab your canteen is very trivial and in case if something is stuck and there is no immediate danger you can always ask a fellow soldier to open the buttons and release the hook so to speak.

Quite frankly it's also easier to keep your belt's weight more balanced when you wear it on your backside, no matter how much your drill sergeant would yell about you're not fit for parade. Germans were gold medal champions when it came to doing really odd improvisations if you just stroll through plenty of original photos.

Actually they do seem to have canteen cups, it's just the so-called bakellite model. Even though actually if you want to get water really fast you don't want to have the cup around and it wasn't that uncommon for people not to wear it as it's pain in the *** to open the strap and remove the canteen if it's wet, you accidentally set it too tight or combination of several variables.

Are you sure it's a place holder? Not too hard to change a texture with a few colors.

Yes, TWI devs have said couple of times it's a placeholder.

Yeah, I'm sure after about a year on the Eastern front, methods of wearing were tried and tested, and that is what worked. I have plenty of photos of German soldiers with the breadbag hanging directly in the center of their belt.

It's just like the issue of the gas cape. The German standard was to wear it on the front laced through the gas mask canister strap, but the soldiers disobeyed this anyway. I know for a fact they did the same thing with other parts of equipment as well, and the breadbag is no exception.
