If I don't post this, I will always be pissed off every time I see Wehrmacht soldiers with floating gas mask canisters:

Since it appears the Y-strap is just textured on the tunic, the same can probably be done with the gas mask strap. Hopefully this isn't just another nuisance from a realism freak, but I think something like this just cannot be overlooked.

But, he's got to open the program, and find a reference pic, and draw it in. Your right, that is devastatingly simple.

I think they might have actually modelled in the belts etc on the base mesh and would want to adding a strap too. Which means it isn't a small task to fix really haha.

They'd have to remodel in the strap and re-topologize the models mesh, redo detailing in Zbrush, redo all the UV maps, so redraw textures to add the belt, redraw and add the various texture maps. then they need to re-rig the models and redo any morphs because of the added polygons to the base mesh.

That's for every character, for the sake of a strap I don't think there's a high chance of that happening. But who knows! :p

They did not model the Y-strap, and that is the thickest webbing a German soldier carries, so why would they not just texture the gas mask strap? Even if it is not modeled and does not physically connect to the gas mask canister, at least it would appear to be from behind and front. You would not notice in the heat of battle, either.

draw it in? lmao, if that was their philsoohpy, the character models would all look like cartoon characters. no, the strap has to be modeled in.

I hope they do it. They still have a lot of time before release. It would be a shame to have tank simulations, but floating gas mask canisters. :(
