Odd is putting it kindly i'd say
Sure they are on the same engine, but on 2 different platforms, and with such radically different goals for their artstyle that it makes comparison impossible (everything goes SciFi fantasy, versus gritty realism ano 1942/43).
Direct comparison will be impossible, but personally, i'm going to like RO2's graphics better despite the differences in themes, for one very simple reason: Ro2 is not going to overuse thouse pesky Bloom and HDR effects that make me want to vomit (they will be there, but subtle), whereas GoW3 most certainly will.
Very strange that most everyone in that thread picked RO2. I wouldn't even pick RO2 and I think it looks fantastic.

I've been here for 6, and he's got 9 times my post count. ><
With my current post rate, I would need 54 years to reach that number.
A big reason for that is we know Epic's screenshots will not match the final product, which will not look that good.
They are rendered "in-engine" and not "in-game", which basically means thease are staged shots taken from the editor, on a PC, at high resolutions that the Xbox360 will never do, and then downsized.
The same has been true of all Epic's recent releases, their pre-release material allways looks better than the final product, so people are taking thouse GoW3 pic's with a grain of salt.
But again, graphically, the two games should not be compared, because one is SciFi fantasy and will make use of lots of effects and cool whatsits and doodads because it's fantasy, and the other is a realism game and will not, they have compleately different goals for the graphical presentation of the games.
Other than that I'm pretty much on the same ground as hockeywarrior, certainly... odd comparasion to say the least.
