Thou I find Killing Floor's gameplay a bit rustic, I became a fan, and draged 2 friends along to play with me. I have some suggestions that can make massive improvements into Killing Floor's gameplay.
Killing Floor could be more like a tower defense/FPS game, just like Dungeon Defenders mixes Tower Defense with RPG.
I am talking about let the players choose a place in the map to build a fortress, sentries, traps, perhaps even bots back up to make the fight more interesting, less repetitive.
Some stuff to generate light would be nice too, flashlights or torches that you can buy on the store or perhaps only one perk would have this ability.
Another suggestion is to make the chars move more freely on the map, just like Unreal Tournament (since you use their engine), house windows could be breakable and roofs could be a nice place for a last stand on a house fully dominated by the specimens.
Thanks for anyone with the time to read, support if like the idea.
For game designer, remember that the little details distinguish simple games from masterpieces.
