Andy Burnes over at Voodoo Extreme got a chance to play through a couple of maps of Killing Floor with some of the Tripwire team last night. He was busily recording as he played - and the end results are now available over at Voodoo Extreme for all to see. Nice one, Andy!

hmm loveing the footage but the user interface feels very raw and unpolished, like the "next wave inbound" stuff is very garish, as is the very sqaure and lackluster HUD and buy menu, also why after having made such an effort to make zeds jump over walls does the bloat simply float over it >.> look at london, video 2 1/4 in and youll see what im talking about o_O

Map environment looked very nice for UT2.5. I have to be critical of somethings though, mainly the animations looking king of clunky in some parts. Maybe it was because of how the vid was recorded but the sound was not great either, both guns and voice overs. Anyway still looks like a lot of fun only 19 more hours :p

the videos only had mono sound, so all the sound effects, music and VO got crammed in the center. im sure playing the game will be a whole different experience.

Yep, playing the game sounds quite different.

Overall (excluding sound in video of course) as good or better than i expected except for the patriarch i think he should have been a bit more aggressive but that is just me and i'm no critic. also i hope there is an option to turn off ingame voices because well... you know.

The sound and graphics are great except the particle effects and a few 3rd person animations (such as reloading winchester in 3rd person looks quite reaky)

I was expecting the voiceovers to be really really really bad, but they're actually really great. Instead my complain is there aren't enough! Just hearing the same ones over and over :(

Only big complaint is ugh the particle effects. The muzzle flashes are so underwhelming. For RO this isn't a problem, but in this case, with "ZED time" you can really see how plain they are. Not to mention, it looks like no dynamic lighting with the muzzle flashes? Or maybe the FPS of the recording wasn't capturing that. And the shotgun looking like miniflak with it's effect is ICK.. :/ Then the gorefast swing effect.

The maps look amazing. I freaking love all the projectors and everything (like in biolab, the projectors for the flourecent lights up top look so damn good. And you don't see many lightblobs like you did in the ut2004 maps). The only big letdown for me seeing the graphics and sound now is the particle effects seem to have gotten pretty much no love.. I mean cmon, we all saw those videos of the desert eagles firing. Who doesn't want to see those muzzle flashes in slow mo ingame?

Yay! No more Fleshpound insta-kill!
The Zed Time seems to be cool but a bit too "random" (somewhere the Zed Time is started but you're just reloading); it may give you some more seconds to think nevertheless. :)
