PC [GameBreaking] OBJ Nuked: Drone is no longer repairable and welder is no longer recharging

On 2nd escort wave after bot recharge, if the bot gets destroyed it will no longer be repairable.
On top of that it will keep rising up as you try to repair it but nothing happens.
And the welder gets drained a bit when trying to repair it, but it can't recharge.

Happens quite often:
Friend suggested that when it falls, it might clip through the ground a bit and get stuck, and with it unrepairable.
I think it's just happens when it gets taken down by zeds.

Happens often online.
I think Zed landing objective drone can have same issue, but it's less common.
But it can happen if drone gets beaten down to 0% health a couple of times, and mostly on his 1st escort to the cave.

Does anything stand out for the situations when this does happen? Does it happen at certain spots on the map or when it's taken a certain kind of damage? Did you say the welder also breaks and stops charging itself?

Idk if anything stands out other than being overwhelmed by zeds, while we are a good distance from the bot.
About spots i'm not sure since i didnt pay attention where it would completely die before, but last time this happened, it was right next to the zed spawn area on top of the road that goes up ( the road that leads up from the horse statue on the left... not the long road up on the right)

And yes, welder does stop recharging... Even when you try to repair the drone it would lose a % or two and then not drain at all
(In retrospect i should have tried to weld the door and see what happens)

One theory i have that bot can die when he gets smashed by zeds while sucking the radiation... but that wouldn't explain why bot can also die the same way in zed landing.

Ok nvm, you just need to get the drone destroyed by zeds on his 2nd wave of nuke vacuuming
Doesn't matter where, just needs to be beaten to 0 health.

I know I'm very late to this thread, but I have the same issue, but it's not just on nuked. I have had this occur for me every time the drone gets destroyed when I am the only one in the game. It happens on every map on any difficulty.

Ok yeh i've checked it out on the current V1092, it's still a thing.
The drone cannot be repaired in the online play, no issues in offline mode so far.

I thought the drone was similar to the cart in Santa's workshop, in that if you fail it blows up ending the game early.

This is still not fixed.
But this time i have 1 more finding.
If you try to repair a broken drone's body, it will not repair and your welder won't recharge.... But, if you just tap weld its big processor that is on the side:

The drone will be repairable and the welder will once again recharge.

But you must have some charge in your welder to do it, otherwise if you have no charge, you can't do anything to it.

Bumping this back up, because the drone is still not fixed.
Had couple of matches today on HOE OBJ Nuked, and the drone was once again floating up and not recharging the welder if someone or myself tried to repair it anywhere else other than that magnet/cpu looking thing on the side of a drone.

Hmm thought this was fixed in Halloween update. We found there was a bug with the welder. Sometimes, the server side got blocked and the welder could not recharge it’s battery. We fixed that. Yes, it is intentional for the drone to be fixed by using the welder on the certain spot. Not sure about the raising in the air though. I'll pass that along. A video of what exactly happens would help. Is it only happening on online play or is it happening on solo too?

From design perspective, it makes no sense for the drone to be fixed only if you weld a specific spot of it.... When not only when you're swarmed by zeds with increased spawnrate, but it is also never communicated to the player that drone can only be repaired if you weld it in a specific spot.
Not to mention drone was repairable anywhere on its body, before the day I've wrote this thread.

happened a few days ago to me, too. Drone was downed by zeds and floating in mid-air, so no repairs were possible.

After further investigation:

Welder no longer recharging: Fixed? Maybe? (i could no longer reproduce it, but i suspect its not entirely fixed if some users on discord and here now report that drone flies up, which i suspect is tied to welder not recharging as well)

Drone's repair hitbox: Confirmed bugged

In multiplayer: The Drone cannot be repaired anywhere on the body, except if you at the top exposed CPU
