Is anyone else excited for this? It's an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series.

I personally can't wait. For those who haven't read the books, imagine a cross between LOTR and Deadwood.

Last I heard, the next book was due out this July. Each season of the show is one book in the series iirc.

I for one am looking forward to this.
But then the Song of Ice and Fire is my favourite fantasy epic, thus I do think that I will be dissappointed by the series, no matter how good it is as a TV show, as it has to live up to the books.

Also, GRRM should finally finish the next book! I'm highly suspicious of the july release date.

Yeah, I think that was the most startling and unexpected thing I read in a book ever... well, apart from clockwork orange.

And rest assured that, should the series go on, that won't be the last thing you didn't expect.

I think there's a massive battle about to happen in ep 9, I am absolutely loving it so far. I'm not someone who easily gets into fantasy but I gave it a shot after seeing people raving about it online and was drawn right in.

The whole reason Ned was in his situation was because of his stupid honor. Instead of at least dying with the honor that brought him there, he sacrifices it to lie about Joffrey being the real king. His death is so pathetic.
