game mode The Red Tide is if ur on the Russian side ur the attackers if ur on the germen side ur the defenders the Germans have 1 min to prepare for the attack the Russians will charge out of trains tranches buildings and the Germans will fire on them as they charge and all u do is hope u live through it and waves after waves the Germans have to defend there HQ till time runs out and if u try retreat u will be shot for the Russians to win they have to take the German HQ killing all the Germans then they win the battles and on some maps the Russians will get tanks to run behind the Germans will get anti tank weapons and artillery

Nice idea, but I would rather have bots rather than human players running towards us. I don't want to die 9001 times just to reach a HQ and get shot there too.

Either way, it would be kind of a endlessly kill bots fest.

No one wants to charge at an objective over and over and die like so much meat. And getting shot for retreating? Dude, you need to stop watching Enemy at the Gates

Also, punctuation and proper spelling: try it some time. We have people who post in these forums from far off lands like finland and austria... they all manage to post in passible English, grammer and punctuation included.

I'm assuming you are lucky enough to speak english as your first language... so please put more effort into the construction of your posts.

I actually do think its kind of a good idea, just not as a specific game mode and not all the time, "horde" modes are the scourge of shooters, and people have this vision in their head that every other Russian got a clip instead of a rifle and they all charged waving flags and took 10 times more casualties than the Germans.

Have you tried the similar modes in shooters that are out now? The "horde" modes all suck, in Gears of War 2 its extremely repetative, in BFBC2 the bots have extremely high accuracy and can nail you with a pistol to the head while you're in a chopper, In Splinter Cell Conviction it ruins the whole point of stealth....

Basically its the big new fad thats sucks, while I would like to see maps where one side has to charge across open ground, I don't want to see a "mode" like that.

It sucks in both realism and gameplay perspectives and should only be a tactic on certain maps.

Furthermore, posts ought to be thought through for more than the time it takes to type the entry. Not just "EPIC SUGESTION LETS HAVE PLANES". That's all fine and dandy, but taking five seconds to type something which would take the team - in mild estimates - a year to successfully implement, and further doesn't sit well with the scope of the game in question makes me wonder whether this kid has played the game at all.

It still gives you no right to bash on his idea, ever heard the phrase "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it"? Yeah, that applies here.

You don't have to treat him by the way he types, it's not a rule. It's your own personal view on others.The guy doesn't even have to have played RO1 to suggest something, he just wants to let his idea out.

On topic, I think it would be a nice little add on to script and all, but not really worth it for the devs. Maybe it could make for a nice cinematic machinima?
