Game is unplayable now

Every server I join has pings over 150 for every player. I'm sure everyone else is experiencing this. I think it has something to do with punkbuster. I'm playing on servers that just yesterday had pings for the most part under 100ms, now if you are they all start at 150ms and go up from there.

I'm wondering if there is some new bug introduced in the last page that is seriously destroying network performance in the game.

Also, in several servers I joined for the first 45 seconds of every round pings jump up to around 1000ms, but then settle back down.

We had this same issue on our server. Massive lag spikes at the start, and then 100ms+ when it used to be 23ms. Turned out it was Punkbuster. After disabling PB and restarting, it went back to normal.

FPS has received a slight increase (5-ish) on my end, but the ping makes every server unplayable atm.

This is getting closer and closer to a 1 step forward, 2 steps back kind of thing.
I don't believe for a second that what releases on tuesday will be something that can be called a finished product, atleast not something they should be asking money for.

VAC has never been "enough". Look at Counter Strike/TF/DoD (all of them). You would have to understand how VAC works to even make this statement. It is completely possible to trick or sidestep VAC 99.9% of the time with simple file modifications as it is not a real time kick/ban (hackers have done this for years). Punkbuster looks for inconsistencies in real-time and though it has some kinks (until worked out), it provides a better player experience while you are actually playing the game.

Who sits around going "I wonder if VAC ever got around to banning that guy last week after he joined my server and made everyone leave?" You were still impacted that night. I like instant kick/ban results and PB does that.

Unfortunately, i have to agree. Its just silly, when i got ping about 150 everywhere. Try to hit something with bolt rifle, especially running solider.

My FPS also increased, but ping ruins everything. And server browser is just crap ATM...

This is so much trolling..
PB works just fine if implemented correctly, give it a chance before you slap everything in its way.
You're aware that VAC have/has massive issues as well right?, Like anything else it depends on so many factors.

The biggest VAC issue is being completely useless

RO was fine with punkbuster and VAC and pretty much 0 cheating...much rather have them than the servers populated by cheating n~bheads. Which they were.

Server browser isn't functioning at all for me anymore. I know it's a beta but I can't provide any feedback/bug findings when I can't play at all lol.

But, server admins are the BEST!! anti cheat software out there.

If I find a server that has constant admins present, "right click add to fav"

Lol I've had a lot of problems like that with this game. Just let the graphics enamor you until a fix is out. Try checking your recently played, thats how i got into a few games when my server browser **** the bed.

The problem with admins is that they think I cheat and ban me even though I'm clean. You get 50+ kills in countdown with a rifle when the next person in the server has 10 and you're cheating...

No, everyone playing this game is just bad. That's all.

Played for about an hour on the UK Tripwire server (TE-Station). The lag every time after the map had loaded was horrendous. It took about a minute for things to settle back to normal. And even then the game was less responsive than usual. Everyone's ping was unreasonably high, +100 across the board. I have played on this server all week and before the patch it ran as smooth as butter.

Do it all the time, I have 150 ping minimum because I use a cellphone most of the time. You just have to lead your shot. Problem now is I'm getting 300-400 ping.
