Hi, I just bought the game on sale from steam from their christmas deals.

When I started playing, I noticed that after 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay in multiplayer or solo, my game will freeze for about 10 seconds. Afterwards the game will unfreeze and the game textures become corrupt making some textures invisible, while others a dull or white color. I know that my video card isn't overheating as I play more graphic intensive games and have run 3dmark to see if there are any issues and there is none. I am currently running the game at Highest graphics settings. I will lower the settings to see if this affects any changes or if for some reason certain audio settings affect it (it has happened in the past but for a completely different PC). I was wondering if there are any suggestions that I could to do to fix it. I have also defragged the drive that killing floor is on.

System Specs:
Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad
2 Gigs of ram
Nvidia 8800GT

Here is my killingfloor.log
I deleted killingfloor from steam games tab, both from steam and then completely deleting the folder from steamapps and anywhere else that it was installed too. Then I downloaded it again and tried running the game, same problem =[

Looking at that log, it seems that some of the files are corrupt or missing...

Try verifying your game cache.

What is the temperature of your videocard while playing. It sounds like its overheating crashing and resetting itself and getting garbled up, different games can stress cards differently. So even sometimes a game like crysis runs great and another game doesnt.

KF is heavy is easpecially on the videocard memory.

If you have a creative soundcard you can try indeed with messing with the "use system driver" setting.

I've validated the game cache integrity both times i've installed the game and it seems fine. I'll give the sound card suggestion a try as I do have a creative sound blaster audigy card. As for the temp, i've actively had speedfan running to test and it shows the temp to go at a max of 63C (145.4F)

Awesome, looks like my first reply didn't work.

I've verified the game cache integrity both times that I have installed the game. My video card reaches a max of 63-65C while playing any game, I verify this using speedfan.

I do have a Creative SB Audigy card. I will disable the OPENAL option and use the default sound setting.

Currently I have all the graphic details set to MAX and all the optional settings that are simply an ON or OFF setting by clicking the box to put an X in the box are disabled. This seems to have fixed the freezing issue for now as I was able to play for a good 30 minutes with no issues.
