Can you confirm whether you have the following directory in your PC? Are there files in that directory?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\red orchestra 2\ROGame\Config

Also, as a sanity check, make sure you have write permission in your Docements folder? Is there a "My Games" folder inside your Documents folder?

I just bought this game yesterday and Im getting hung up at the splash screen, the task manager says unreal engine 3 is not responding... My computer is more then capable to run this game Ive tried so many different things that are posted on this forums. Has anyone figured out a full proof way to fix this? or is it just luck at this point?

This is a known problem by Tripwire, but they haven't found a solution as yet, and I don't know if they are still even working on it.

If you can go to this thread and follow instructions to create and upload a launch log, that may help TWI with a solution and you could be helping a ton of gamers who have had this problem for months now.

I have had this problem on my gaming rig since day one and haven't found a solution yet.
Most gamers with this problem have just given up and figure they donated their money to TWI.

The only bullet proof way I know of to fix this issue is to install the game on another comptuer.
You didn't list specs. so I don't even know what OS you are using.
I have 2 almost identical machines and one with XP Pro won't launch, yet another with Vista 32 bit will.

I also have an older machine with XP Pro that will also launch the game, so I don't believe it is limited to OS, CPU, Graphics, memory .. there is something that isn't a common denominator, so I think that is why Tripwire has been unable to provide a fix so far.

Anyway .. I know that gamers affected by this would be greatful if you can upload a launch log that helped find the problem.

I can verify that I have everything you list and have actually deleted the configuration files and let them reinstall.

Sure wish you guys could figure this out.

I can't create a launch log using the solution Putz posted.

I do get a sort of DOS type screen with lines of text, but no log.

is that possible?

You must have a RO2 folder (map) in *my documents / my games*

So which file did you give permission?

If your game doesn't launch AND you don't have the Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2 folder, try installing the UE3Redist.exe in the following folder.

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\red orchestra 2\Binaries\windows

not trying to be an ***, but i would try "everything" that was suggested. not just "almost everything". if you meant you tied everything and it still doesn't work, a new thread with your particular problem along with you rcompuer specs would be a great idea. remember, there's no such thing as "too much" information!.

Played the game on the 28 worked fine but next day i got this Unrealengine3 doesnt respond. I have reinstalled it a coupel of times verified it reinstalled steam
updatedmy GC to latest drivers
reinstalled UE3Redist.exe and pbsvc_hos
crashing when launching the game

When you reinstall, be sure you delete \Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config and.the contents. That folder doesn't get removed or uninstalled. If its corrupt or has corrupt .ini's, then they are still corrupt. Nor does reinstalling overwrite anything in that folder.

If I were you, I'd try deleting that folder and restarting the game. The game will rewrite what it needs.

Looks like your problem could be related to what's described in this thread. If you skip to the end, you'll see that this problem has been fixed in the beta and should make it into the live game soon. In the meantime, you could play the beta if you want and don't mind a large download.

First of all i would like too say thank you very much for all the help i got!!

The game works fine for me now! But the problem were in my msconfig!
hade only one processor working thats why it went ballistic when i tryed to start the game!!

So big thanks anyway guys u made me think harder then i have doon in years!!

I think your "video card" simply can't handle the game.
