Game crash when loading server list.

its a beta, I dont know if that is causing it. But in the serverbrowser the game for the first time connects to the internet. So then its usually a net related issue.

Find the cause of the issue and things can be fixed. Don't know the cause or the replication then everybody is left in the dark and nothing changes. This is a beta.

I'm very well aware that it's a beta, and I intend to fill as many bugreports/deliver as good feedback as I can, as I said I didn't mean it like "lol your wrong" rather, I don't really -think- that's the cause of the problem

Anyways, I just managed to get into a game by clickign on the first server I saw, and hit connect BEFORE the client crashed, now when i got into the game, I got the other lovley bug called "I can't walk or anything, just prone and use my iron sights"

The client did not crash whislt "in-game" I turned it off, deleted the .ini file (for the controls) restarted steam and the Beta, and voila, crash at server browser again

I've found a temporary solution (works for me) when you click server browser quickly try and click quick refresh. The game will stop looking for servers and in my case, not crash.

Same here as well. How to upload the dump file?

It was refreshing the server list and then crashed.

if the game crashes while refreshing the serverlist, can you try manually adding the game executable to your firewalls exception list. Make sure ports are open as well etc

you can find the executable in:


steam -> steamapps -> common -> redorchestra2beta -> binaries -> win32 -> ROGame.exe

Yeah hit the refresh button while the server list is populating helped prevent me from CTD on the server list. But click on a server and go through the loading and right as I'm about to get in game it crashes, same error.

I have this too. The game gets really laggy and sluggish and then crashes.

I get the laggy ness as well so it could crash due to performance as well. Keep the thread updated with findings. And twi will probably find it when they get back in the office after some sleep .

I actually managed to join and play about 3 games before now I cannot any more use the server browser or quick match. Both cause the game to crash.


Very, very strange considering I changed absolutely NO settings in-game or out of it.
First time I crashed was after I exited a match and attempted to find a new server, and since then I can no longer browse for longer than 5 seconds.

You need to package them as a .zip (or .rar and then rename it to a .zip if you have that "show file exstension" option activated in windows)
Oh and you can only put 1 log into 1 .zip, that should put it right under the 97.7 Kb limit for attachments

Woah okay, Turend my firewall off (and before this i even added manual rules/exeptions both for outbound/inbound traffic) and now it works^^

The game crashes immediately after joining a server. When some portion of the map is loaded and almost always before the server's "welcome" message pops up, the game stops working. Maybe it's related to the server browser issues, don't know. I'll put here some of the dump files (compressed in a zip file and uploaded MU because the file was too big to attach), hope this can help to find a fix soon

I did the steam thing that Zetsumei posted, had my firewall off and even removed Steam in-game community, still the same issues.

I have this problem too

Seems if i click friends or lan tab it wont crash, only when trying to load all the servers.

When clicking the multiplayer tab, TWI need to make it so it doesnt load all the servers and people can select there filters first rather then trying load every server that exists.

Needs a ping or location filter too, maybe trying load so many servers is the reason it crashes?

I think the issue is with the alpha maps going over the video background. Loading this many servers seriously cripples your gpu.

With my 5870 the fps go down to 3fps when obtaining the serverlist. TWI will probably look at this soon enough. Wasn't really an issue with the 4 beta servers ^^.

Some retarded fixes that might work for you (originaly posted on the steam thread) :

1. Click Server browser

2. As soon as it starts slowing down, alt-tab out of the game

3. While you wait for the server browser to finish being r3tarded, go watch a youtube video.

4. Alt-Tab back in to a server browser that has finished refreshing.

5. click a game

6. ???

7. Profit

Works like 1 out of every 10 tries. At least i was able to play about 2 rounds, unfortunately they were of the boring a** countdown gametype

Do not use server browser, use instant match, most of the time it says no match available but keep trying i've played 3 full games so far!
