IMHO TW should stick with the Ostfront theme. Theres still masses of milage in it, 1200 miles of front, biggest land & air battles in history, 4 years of total war ;), & lots of cool things that could be implemented with the UT3 engine. Here a quick & dirty list of what comes to mind:-

64-128 players - that would be really cool some maps really lack target rich environments (Berezina for instance)
Additional Vehicles (Jeeps, Trucks, Half tracks, Flame Tanks)
Crewable weapons - AT guns, Howitsers, MGs, Mortars, Flamethrowers ( Static & towable)
Destructable landscapes:eek:
Rocket Artillery - Nebelwerfer & Stalin Organ:cool:
Player initiated Airstrikes ( Thinking Stuka or IL2 strikes called by radio )

All this with TWIs continued excellent support would just be awesome, anyway why not stay with a winning formular? Hell you don't even need to release it all in one go, the community would be left champing at the bit waiting for the next installment in the same way that the IL2/PF community does with the next 1C patch:D

As long TW recreates historic battles (except the Westfront :p ) and trys to get the most realistic possibilities out of the next-gen engines i'll be always loyal to them. (Off-topic:TW,have you thought about a limited RO:OST Edition ?In a nice shiney Tin-Box?With Jewels encrusted?)

I must be in the minority... I voted for staying with TW as long as they stay with WW2. Both Theaters... European and Pacific. I wish people would stop trying to put horseblinders on both history and TW. We had family and neighbors that died fighting to liberate Europe. Facts are facts, and if TW makes a scenario of the Western Front, I'm certain its quality will far outstrip anything we've seen from anyone else.

hrmmm. i would LOVE it if tripwire made a game of other wars that arent often done, or not at all done. ie: korea,ww1, or even earlier back in the days of lever actions and the first machineguns. heck i would even take the war of 1812 or 1776. playing a game with muskets made by tripwire would be A W E S O M E!

I'm on board whatever they might do, but I would just like to see a better version of RO with better animations and more fluid controls.
And with bigger servers.

For what it's worth, I prefer infantry combat over the tanks, although I don't mind as long as I have some fausts at hand.

A little of both. I like that it's Eastern front WWII instead of more of the Western front, and the realism/gameplay balance is shaping up to be more and more spot-on with each adjustment.

I would mess my pants, and probably my desk-chair, for a chance to use TripWire's attention to detail and knack for achieving natural balance (read: not uber tweak/nerfing) with modern-day weapon systems though.

ZOMG a realistic M4 to hunt down a squad of mean people armed with realistic AK variants!

I'd love a Vietnam scenario. Which is yet to be done well.

I'd probably buy whatever game they released regardless (if it's a war game of course)... but really I want RO2, with the latest unreal engine + bullet penetration, destructable environments etc. It'd be absolutely insane.

Honestly I love bolt-action combat... it's far more exciting than having an M4 with a 30 round mag.

I want it to be modern and be based on a real war and have Russians in it.

well bullet pen has its pros and cons

pros: lotsa fun, feels realistic, IS realistic, offers new tactical ways

cons: nearly no cover anymore (a 8,57IS will chew throught pretty much everything),

paired with the pretty realistic halthsystem in RO there will be enough moments of WTF!

like: ahh theres a nice house where i can take cover behind...
MG42 fires, ur dead..

dang that house was wood!

I have recieved so much enjoyment out of RO that I have purchased it twice. Once for the game and once just to say thank you to such a good game. I would buy anything they came out with because of the reputation they have earned with RO. I bet most people feel the same when it comes down to it.

Yeah, and you'll be the ONLY one sleeping there, and then when people ask "what ****ing game are you waiting for?" And you'll go "Red Orchestra 2, zomg!" And then they will say "Never heard of it" and walk away :D
