Your friends, and everyone who judge the game by how it looks, is a dumbass.

I remember years ago a friend was raving about his new stereo system. A couple of us went round the following evening with a few beers, looking forward to a nice seperates system, we even brought some cd's.

When we arrived the guy answered the door, ushered into the living room and announced..." doesn't it look awesome " ( we all looked in shock at the nasty little midi system covered in flashing lights ) and I said " how does it sound ", he replied " oh it's not bad but look at it, those EQ lights look so cool, wait till you hear the megabass!! "

We went home ;)

yeah. Again. You can't just "call" your internet friends over. Hey. come over to England from Sweeden and Germany and Poland! Come on =)

But I will have to wait until I get the game and probably record some good stuff to post on youtube. Nice full graphics HD gameplay.

I'm from Poland and I don't have any Polish friends :D your makin me jealous, and I can't trust my internet friends opinions on games. Their steam account game lists are more RPG/strategy orrientated. My friends are more "blow crap up" orientated. Thats why im wondering why BF3 people aren't having an easy time getting their friends into it.

But for you its the same recording is the same principal, just fraps it and upload to youtube, throw them an email link/steam chat message of you shooting nazis/bolsheviks. Or write a good recomendation on steam.

Edit: And your Polish friend should be easy to convince. As a pole I've always had a awesome time on either team in RO. Both Russia and Germany signed the Molotov pact. So both sides ****ed my ancestors over :D , although I do say I prefer Russian for obvious reasons.

Their reasons though are mainly graphical. Apparently the game looks outdated.

I'm sorry but your friends are simply noobs, you can tell them I said that.

There's a reason why people say "Never judge a book by it's cover", but I guess they belong to the CoD crowd which pretty much get high on explosions and over the top action, which is probably what they call good graphics.

1. Get rid of your friends. This is actually an automated feature of ROHOS as you will be playing it all the time anyway, hence getting rid of your old "friends"

2. Make new friends who play ROHOS, this too happens automatically as you're only spending time at the ROHOS servers and meet people from your timezone.

3. Problem solved. Remember to design a new budget for your life based on the welfare checks that will become your only income.

Your best bet would be to send them to the gulag. Then just tell them that the only way out is to buy, then play HoS for no less than 400 hours.

Just leave them to it :) Or get them/ make them play on the weekend when we have it.

I honestly think the graphics look fantastic on it and doesn't have the 'brown' every other game has really also looks miles better then CoD8... As the UT3 engine is amazing and barely tapped into really.

Lots of the games i play in comparrison to these 'top fps's' are rather dated being IL2 1946 (Not got latest one due to it having stupid/ terrible performance issues) Railworks 2 (Expect flaming but RW3 which is a free-upgrade has a new graphics engine and looks amazing)

Im just still trying to convince my brother to get RO2 but he is wanting CoD8 on 360 and BF3 on pc.

I know that it will be a hard sell for my small clan. In part because we are all older (40 and up), extremely busy and don't all have up to date computers. The other is that for some reason their interest lies more in the BF and COD areas. Well, mostly BF now because COD just go tooo bad.

A couple clanmates do seem interested and will probably get it, but I seriously wonder about the rest.

Secondly, They have all pre-ordered battlefield 3 which they say will be a far superior game in every way including team work.
Show them this video about 3D spotting and then let them say that again with a straight face without laughing. :D
And if they can do that, you shouldn

From the comments of the video there was stated:
DICE is now making it so that the 3d spotting disappears if the spotter loses line of sight. So yeah, player A can wallhack, but only if player B has the enemy in view. Its called teamwork.

Hmmm, well...
So it is still possible to do what the video shows while a sniper sits somewhere and spots for everyone else. ;)

Im sure I will enjoy them both but in different ways.

I speculated that older peeps would love this because they are getting worse at twithy jumpy games as they get older.
Maybe thats because they leave CoD for BF3:D
Just joking, I am obliged to do that as a young(er) person:rolleyes:

The gameplay trailer was a hell of a lot better when I showed them that....

But then they entered the discussion of "Trailers are meant to make a game look better". They've obviously entered that phase where they've said no and don't want to appear stupid by changing their minds =p

yeah i tryed to convince my friends they said for me to get the game which i was already have done and for me to tell them whats it like and they will look at the reviews when it comes out.

And seriously? People who use reviews are idiots. Bare in mind that reviewers have to give out good reviews because if they don't. Game publishers will refuse to give them any information about their game in fear that they will criticize them badly. On top of that. People don't really like to hear details about a game and make up their own mind. They want to know if one person enjoyed the game or didn't enjoy the game.

Remember old car adverts which use to tell you a cars specification? Now we just have shiny cars and attractive women all over the place. Review articles are pretty much the same case with words now. People like to hear good things over bad things. Comical stuff over dry material. To the point where it isn't talking about the game itself but just trying to write a good entertaining review. Which leaves somewhat of a unintentional bias opinion from the reader.

3D spotting has been nerfed. Now you can only see the triangle if you can see him, otherwise it's just a dot on the minimap.

Yes, the wallhack side of the system, is ment to be fixed.

3D Spotting has other problems though.

Problem: It's a aim assist
Problem: spam "Q" to search and locate.
Problem: Range, If you can't physically see a target you shouldnt be able to spot or view the 3d marker.

Battlefield 3 falls under the heading of action or arcade game. BF3 isn't even a true FPS (First-person shooter)
It's some sort of hybrid FPS/MMO Hybrid

First-person shooters (FPS) are a type of 3D shooter game, featuring a first-person point of view with which the player sees the action through the eyes of the player character. They are unlike third-person shooters which are seen from the back, allowing the gamer to see the character/vehicles they are controlling.

I know Battlefield 3 is not a Combat simulator but 3rd person view is more suited to a console environment..

As for 3d spotting, what were they thinking...
