If standing next to a friendly machinegun or someone is firing a weapon close to you that is a friendly you should not be suppressed. If anything a friendly machinegun or heavier weapon near you should lower the enemy suppression effect due to it being a morale boost.

I can understand friendly fire being suppressive if it's from a ways out and you are being shot at in a blue on blue incident, but otherwise it should have no effect or a slightly positive effect on you.

I agree. I feel that if you're are standing behind or next to an MG, you shouldn't be suppressed. Or at the very least, the suppression effect should be toned down. Currently shooting near an MG is pretty futile since it shakes the iron sights severely.

However, I feel like suppression would make sense if you are ahead of allies shooting in your general direction (and personally I'd prefer this choice), as any bullets headed your way would shake a soldier up, friendly or not.

Just my thoughts though.

does friendly fire sound different? but why should we be immune? maybe if they are firing/standing in front of you it would be okay(friendly fire is as dangerous as non friendly)

the reason we should be immune is that I played for 5 minutes and it is already pissing me off.

None of those bullets are aimed at you in an attempt to kill you, so standing next to a friendly machine gun who is suppressing the enemy would not make you quake in fear or feel the need to duck from incoming bullets as the suppression system is supposed to simulate.

That's why we should be "immune".

supression effect tries to simulate the fear of death. so you won't pop out and shoot the Mg that is aiming at you. I guess if a friendly is shooting you feel everything but not fear

Bullets are bullets. If a friendly machine gun is suppressing you, you should probably move out of its way.

Its not so much that though, it is when you stand right next to a friendly and he is shooting you get suppressed, even if his targets are 100m away.

That's not what he's saying though... of course in that case it should suppress you.

He's talking about when an MG is firing next to you.

It's the same problem in DH.
