I just hate Friendly Fire, and I got a Story to tell...

...At KF-London, while the Free Weekend, i was going to get a "Shotgun" at the other side of the Jail's fence.

Then a stupid "SharpShooter" that was with other players at the Jail's exit, killed me with a headshot using a dumb Rifle, and I had 100 Health and 100 Armor.

Then i spawned again, went to the Jail's exit with the team and made a "deFENCE" (Got it?), and while i was welding the FENCE, a noob threw a grenade, and took almost half health bar of every player (STUPID DEMOLITION PLAYER), damaged the fence and then monsters came and they killed us all.

At Biolabs, there was a Lvl 5 Support Specialist with my team, when we killed the Patriarch, using the auto-shotgun, killed 2 members of my team, damaged until I was 1/3 of my health and then he started trowing money .

What do you think about FF?

Not a fan of it on PuB servers, however, if I were playing with my friends on a passworded server it'd probably be a lot more fun.

But as long as you're playing Public servers, you're just going to have to embrace for epic fail.

FF is more challenging and more realistic when you're playing with "NOT-MESSING-AROUND-Players". However, when you meet a bunch of griefers... Sucks to be you mate.

Friendly Fire (FF) is a great idea.

The reason I am saying FF is a great idea it brings a realm of realism into the game. Just think of it for a sec, the idea of shooting threw other players as if they didn

All servers should have FF it makes the game more interesting.

If that's on, your team is your worst enemy and the teams on the free weekends mostly sucked so it's better that it's off by default.

Friendly fire has it's own issues in public games, usually falling in such categories:

#1 it's never your fault if you get teamkilled, always someone elses. Especially when the norm is to have a linedancing CS sidestep competition in front of the enemies in general, or hop like rabbits during prime hunting season.
#2 not bothering to read if FF is on (despite server spamming FRIENDLY FIRE warnings in a rate that makes e-mail spammer green with envy) or even ask but proceed to go hurr durr and shoot people off with some powerful weapon and then be utterly confused about it, sometimes resulting into a so-called friendlyfire war. Also includes demo perks who just proceed to fire everywhere or people who throw grenades if there's one single specimen coming from behind.

Of course there's also the griefing danger once in a while, nothing is truly failproof in that regard. It's true FF can be pain in the arse for diffrent reasons but high majority of them are more related to players being, simply said, stupid and failing grade school reading comprehension test.

Had no problems on the free weekend with "Killing Noobs" with FF-on playing on the DSAS Friendly Fire Server.

FF is not the/your problem - it's playing (with FF) with the wrong players/"audience" !!

Uh...no. If you're playing with friends, FF is a nice challenge. If you're playing with pubbies, FF is a nightmare.

DSAS was passworded over the weekend though.

Anyway FF is a good way to add more challenge to the now super watered down difficulty because of the super weapons. I was killed once in one game by a friend of mine who was trying to get used to the spread of the MP7. In the following game a lv6 commando was killed by my friend when he sidestepped in front of a SCAR at head height. Killed from full armor and health in one shot.

FF is fun but what's more fun it's what a friend of mine created for his server, reversed FF.

Instead of you shooting your friend and him getting the damage it's the other way around, you shoot your friend and you get the damage!

As easy as eating cake.

Can tell some fresh FriendlyFire-stories,too.
Played with a friend on a public server (hard - long - 100% FF) an hour ago:
- Died twice "by accident" from a bullet from his M14 EBR (we stood to close to eachother; he just saw some gorefasts running up to me and tried to "protect" me, while I changed position for just 1-2 step(s) - sh1t happens )
- Once while he shot a bloat with his x-bow, while I stood behind that bloat
- several times through "Dualies" from random players with perk level 1-3; sometimes saying "sry" afterwards
- Once got bombed by this griefer:
*had to delete link to profil - it's pittyly against the forum rules...*
He just entered the game and bombed everone on the team, than got kickvoted.
I'm thinking about setting up a dedicated server just to be able to lifeban him

I was in DSAS the other day and a guy got chased by the FP, so I did what my reflexes told me -throw entire pack of 11 level 6 support nades in your teammates face.

10 Seconds later, my face turned red.

I was on it earlier. Was hilarious, at least 2 people were blown up because they stood over a Pipe Bomb set by a catious Demoman.

Then on the wave that we failed on on Waterworks it was because 1 of the new joiners, a moron with a Shotgun (shock horror) managed to destroy 70% of my armour while shooting at an FP. The catch? I wasn't even near the FP!

Its fun to play on now and again, assuming the players KNOW FF is on, but why oh why do you have it on a medium game... i mean seriously Medium? when Long is where all the action/achievements is
