I know the focus is on the American experience, but the French colonial war from the late 1940s to 1954 has some interesting possibilities.

I think the battle of Dien Bien Phu in particular would make a good campaign, playing out different aspects of the battle over time.

It would be great to see, the French involvement in Vietnam is unexplored. Have you played 7554? The gameplay is terrible but their art and the scenarios they cover are really interesting they've done their research.

Hi Psycho, thanks for your response. I do know 7554, but as you say, the gameplay looks absolutely terrible. If the scenario was made using this system, with decent production and voice acting, you'd have a good game and address a major gap in the 'war game' cannon - Vietnam gets a lot of love in the game world, the French war in many ways is not only more interesting, but underutilized in gaming.

Furthermore, I think the ticket system especially lends itself to the Viet Minh tactics at Dien Bien Phu, and in the broader war - you don't become the first nationalist insurgency to defeat a major colonial power without a bottomless supply of infantry! Plus the weapon imbalance would really add to the experience overall.

Just a thought!
