As long as the biggest problem with this update is the class name change, then I believe that one might assume, that the operation as a whole is a success !

yes,I agree its great the new content is great, something small about the names is not all a big deal but would be nice, I think the worst thing out of the whole thing is that the trailer is in wmv. But I guess thats a good thing if thats the worst thing.

i've just spent two hours in tank heaven, IN AUSTRALIA the update has bought all the players out at once. it's beautiful.

i've been known to bag u guys, but today i got all my money worth in two hours.. pure joy. 28 players in arad [and half of them knew what they were doing.] and an hour in barashka. and both games were tight. nice.

i very much look forward to the noob week. i'll even answer stupid questions. i'm not fussed over the language thing, i would rather see a tank physics repair [even a tweek] before worrying. but the physics issues r much better in tanks [a little biased towards nazis ????]
also can a tank run at half speed when motor is hit????? it sux to get a good hit and watch the tank drive off...

i'm now a 100% happy customer and look forward to a new tank map in next update [please!!!]
something open and undulating like arad [my favorite tank/infantry map ever, before now, was blood gulch - lol, its the ups and downs, it makes for nice tank battles. ]

anyway,cheers for the game

p.s. that map OREL that's getting around is a great idea, just way too big -maybe by 20% , the layout is a good idea tho, long range kills are the headshots of tank battle.

I think it is ok with the class names when there will be an option.

For me (and most other vets) the problem is the new smoke granade.
I really loved the idea of smokes, but the current implementation has to be improved.
E.g. I was playing Kransy yesterday, and smoke made it impossible to defend Garage and other ingame szenarios because you can't stop the enemy from capping (you can't see him for 1 minute.... then the cap is over)
The smoke is similar to arty, too much of it ruins the map.
So here the ideas for changes:
1.) Smoke should not be on all maps, only on maps with big open areas where it gives you an advantage for attacking.
2.) The smoke should last only 10-20 seconds, this would be enough for a well planned attack and prevent the map from smoke spawn (I have seen it a few times that there was 4 smokes active at the same time)
3.) limit the use of smokes like you limited the arty.
either make the smoke as a "pickup" for the commander and it "spawns" only 1 time in a minute or give the commander the smoke only the 5th or 10th time he dies. This would prevent a smoke spam from a continous dieing commander :)
4.) the option for the commander to choose between smoke and regular granades.

Remember, this are only some ideas which could be improved too, and the current implementation is a "first try" which should be really improved.
Yesterday i even heard of some vets who talked about making a mutator for ladder matches to stop the smoke spam

I'll try to find back the source but I remember reading the ww2 smoke nades lasted between 2 and 4 minutes.

yes, sure, the real nades lasted longer!
but, in real war, there wasn't a commandir spawning every half a minute, throwing two smokes, which makes it possible (when smoke lasts 2 min) to have 8 smokes active at the same time. because smoke has a huge area you can have the complete garage on krasny smoked all the time.
I wouldn't call this tactics when you can spam smokes all over the map all the time.
Tactical elements are those which are rare, so you have to think when and where to use them. But currently you can throw 2 smokes, die, throw 2 smokes and so on. This is no thinking where to use, this is spamming :)
