I'm not sure where the right place to put this is, but the version of A-operations you have on your server is not the correct one. The author of the map has fixed the map right after releasing it, but kept the same filename.

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=107932
Are you sure?

I just checked myself (I downloaded the map from that thread and compared filesizes with the one on the FTP server) and they are the same.

Actually the map was released for a short period, but it was not working so he removed link, I don't understand why people uploaded it.

Also I understand why you say that Skillz, because the mapper did not set a version number in the map name, but when Workshop will come to KF2, if they implement it poorly as it is for Red Orchestra 2, you will notice that map name will always be the same for different versions, because you can't manage the files in your workshop (that's why on some game for the same map some mappers make two files for the same version, one distributed as MapName_V4 for example on hosting websites like mediafire, game banana, mod db ans so on, and one other file for the workshop with MapName_SWS or simply MapName for the workshop version, as you can only update the file, and not manage your workshop item content, delete files and so on..

Need to get used to maintain files updated as soon as they release them, because when workshop will be the place to download most of the maps, people will not bother to have version number in the file name unfortunately, and yes there will be version mismatch an joyful things like that if servers and/or redirection are not same files.

Maybe I'm wrong but as far as I know, it works like that for now. Maybe Steam and game developers will change thing in the future for better file management in Workshop.

Can someone recommend a good free ftp client to access your ftp server? I just started working wiuth udk, servers, etc this week so I am really green when it comes to this stuff. I have figured everything else out down to hosting my own server. just need to know how/where to upload my map to your redirect. I registered on your forums Skillz but Ive never used ftp stuff before so if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be extremely helpful.

Thanks again for doing this for the community skillz

*edit*
I downloaded file zilla and i believe i figured it all out, thx for all your help with the community Skillz

Hey everyone,

I run a few KF2 servers.

In additional support to everyone I've setup a free redirection server as well. http://redirect.lps.rocks/.

This redirection server has some advantages:
  • Case insensitive requests / uploads
  • CDN Content Delivery (FastDL for worldwide)
  • Unlimited Quota
  • Unique directories for each user (keeps clashing filenames from occurring)
  • Encrypted FTP server support
  • Publicly browsable via FTP & HTTP (http://redirect.lps.rocks, ftp://redirect.lps.rocks)
  • Cloud Powered

You can register to use it at https://lps.rocks/register.php . I'm trying to get the rest of the site going. (Including a global statistics database).

Well at least someone didn't do it on purpose. Sorry to hear that. Well there was a lot of older files that needed to be pruned out anyway. Guess I'll have to slowly add back maps.

Yo Skillz, thanks for hosting the redirect. I reuploaded the Defence_Thyself night and day maps. Please use the new files instead. I uploaded beta 4 in final by accident.

Edit:
I was able to get the FTP access on your forum to update the files.

Hey, I just tried your redirect server. Uploaded a map, put the link into my server. But KF2 client doesn't download map. I can download map from browser though.

BTW, KF2 client was just updated

lps, your redirect ftp doesn't allow to log in and upload files. It just gives a timeout error. I tried both windows explorer and total commander ftp(both with and without OpenSSL). I can browse your http and ftp anonymously though

Skillz,
okay, I managed to get your redirect working by adding map description into server config file. Without this description server reported map name in lower case format. I assume this is why the download didn't work
