wait....turn it ON or turn it OFF if I have a mid-range CPU.

my rig is PhII x3 720 w/ HD6870, 4 gigs ram, Win7x64.

He's saying to turn it on if you have it off. I think he just mistyped the end where it seemed to contradict his previous statement.

In any event, I have had one thread frame lag turned off since I noticed "lag" type deaths around the end of beta/beginning of release build. I have NEVER seen my fps so consistently low.

It was running smooth as silk until the patch hit today. My problems until today were merely the sound cut bug, the 1st shot blank bug, and the z e r o hit detection for aimed rifle fire at 10m and under. Now, it "may" have eliminated the sound bug, but the other bugs remain, and I have fps like I'm running it on ultra on a 5 year old rig, and stutter, to boot.

Please, I don't wanna hear that my machine can't handle unchecking the one frame thread lag option, because I know that to be patently untrue. I want to know what was put into this patch that caused my performance to nose-dive like I'm playing on a $700 HP Walmart-special lappy with integrated graphics, and what is going to be done to fix it. My machine didn't suddenly become "low end" today -- your patch killed my performance!

That setting puts you at a disadvantage against a player with it turned off. Before today's patch, I was running a steady 40-50 fps with one-frame thread lag turned off, so why would THAT suddenly be the "cause" of the reduced fps which coincidentally just started since the new patch?

This. I mean I suggested this as well, but it is not a proper solution since it puts you behind so much against someone who has it off.

Why was my thread merged with another and moved into tech support? I've gotten 2 suggestions from TWI devs, both essentially stating that the problem is on MY end -- it isn't. I appreciate the prompt responses, but really, I've been through this seesaw with every patch, and it certainly isn't my computer or security software.

UT3 can make use of SLi, but the game does seem to have a problem with it. At least for me.

that processor is a joke :/ , sorry to say. Need to get a generally more powerful one if you want to play smoother. Old amd athlons tread behind a lot.
Is it? I think for this game with 3 years old engine it must be more then enough.

I've been trying out the patch, and the .ini tweaks, and nothing works for me aswell. I used to have steady 45-50 FPS, now with the exact same settings I have 28-34 FPS.

I don't know what might have changed.

Preformance since patch

Preformance since patch

Hi all.

Unlike many arround the forum, my preformance since the patch became worse. I lost about 15 fps, when compared to before, and I've messed with the settings and tweaks, and the problem remains, which makes me think that it's not really my system that's the problem.

My current system is a:

Windows 7 64-bits
6Gb DDR3 Ram
Radeon HD5770 1Gb DDR5 GPU
Intel i5 650 3.20Ghz CPU

Can anyone help me regain preformance?

Also, if anyone has the same problem, it would be nice to know and I would appreciate it, in the case, if you could post your system in order to understand if it's game, or PC related. :)

Poor Performance post patch

Poor Performance post patch

My framerate has been dramatically lower since the last patch, I'm running on:

Windows 7 x64
4gig ram
5870 1gb
AMD 1055T @ 2.8ghz

I've tried:
Deleting config files
Updating drivers to 11.9 and 11.10 preview drivers 1 and 2
Verifying files
Disabling firewall/exception
Disabling Anti-virus/exception
Making sure CCC is not overlapping graphical settings

Since the patch I have been getting 20-50 FPS on 1920x1200, regardless of the graphical setting! (Ultra --> low)

We have identical systems (except I have 2 more gb of RAM), and it did the same thing to me ... a bit worse, actually, as I've gone from a consistent 40-50 fps on all maps to 16-24 on some maps, 20-30 on others.

TWI, OBVIOUSLY something in your patch degraded the performance of Intel i5 650 processors and/or HD 5770 gpu's ... this is NOT coincidental!

New Patch KIlls i5 650/HD 5770 performance?

New Patch KIlls i5 650/HD 5770 performance?

Okay, lots of players are complaining that the new patch has killed their fps performance. Now, I posted a thread on this (which was deleted and the content merged into another thread, which was itself moved from here into the tech support forum ...), and this guy's post (both posts quoted below) is very similar. Now, look at the specs of both systems -- they're nearly identical! Intel i5 650 3.20Ghz, HD 5770 1gb, Win7 64, 6-8 gb RAM!

It's pretty clear something in the patch degraded the performance of either/or the Intel i5 650 cpu or the ATI HD 5770 gpu. Please, aknowledge this and do something about it! If this turns into another "It's not our patch, it's your computers" episode again, I want out.

I'm pretty disappointed with the new patch. Some observations with my system, being i5 650 @ 3.20, 8 gb RAM, HD 5770, Win7 64:

1. My FPS has gone from a STEADY 40-50 fps to 16-33 fps.

2. Commissar's house in now unplayable; I am averaging only 16-24 fps
on this map. How the hell are you supposed to PLAY it at that fps?

3. For the first time, I am experiencing latency misses.

4. I am getting stuttering where I previously had none.

5. Close range hit recog remains (I know, that hasn't been addressed yet).

6. I played about 10 rounds. I now seem to load the maps slower compared to other players. 75% I got stuck with a bolty. Once I got assault on Russian (whoopty-doo, AVT), and once squad leader. If you don't have a mega-fast computer/connection, you are essentially screwed.

As the game stands now, I don't even want to play it. At least it was running smoothly before this patch. How the hell did my fps get so drastically lowered???

I think I'm about out of patience with this ...

As I have said in the Support section, and you replied, this happens to me aswell, and our systems are identical.

It must not have anything to do with our computer, as pre-patch we both had a constant, steady framerate.

Please, TWI or anyone, give us out some help here :)

Gosh I wonder why? When moderators "clean" up your thread, what do you think you're achieving by yet again littering the wrong forum?

They have said over and over, that for the issues to be patched they need to be able to reproduce them. Which means that you should start collecting information about what is causing the issue.

FYI, I have been told by the devs that "our optimizations" aren't the cause of the problem! One tried to claim that it was because one frame thread lag was turned off, the other said it must be my firewall. Alperce has the same problem with the same specs. Our settings were the same, the relevant "information" is that the patch hit and suddenly our fps went to hell. There is nothing "triggering" this, it is across the board and obviously something contained in the patch that degraded performance on our cpu and/or gpu. What other information are we supposed to "collect?"

So, all the "Good job, TWI" threads by people whose performance was enhanced by the patch isn't littering to you? Do you have something constructive to ad, or are you just being an obnoxious fanboy?

I just don't like the attitude where people think that they have the right to post their "problems" in general because the developers aren't answering them straight ahead, there's a support forum for a reason. Obnoxious? probably, but fanboy no. Standard insult of yours?

I'm not sure where you get the whole idea that I'm blaming your user configuration. Because I don't think I've said that.
You could give them log files to start with. Even if it's a bug on their end, they will still need to know when the bug is triggered.

EDIT: Oh and by the way, the good job threads actually don't have a real spot in the forum they can be posted at. Thus if not spammed, the good job threads aren't really all that annoying. Constant complaining on the other hand is
