Yeah I'm not too happy with it either. I went from steady 45-65 on high settings down to 25-40. I was on high settings. I tried backing off to medium and playing on lower count servers, but it mad no difference.

I'm averaging low 30's where yesterday I was averaging mid 50's.

My fun percentile has dropped accordingly. My frustration index has risen sharply.

Tripwire, I have tried really REALLY hard to like this game. When it's smooth, and working right...it's awesome. But the more I play it...and the more bugs I see...damn. I waited these many years for THIS? Come on man.

- sound bug, still there.
- dropping out of the spawn queue for no reason, still happening
- stats were reset TODAY....and I was just in a server with someone at a 94 level. yeah, OK.
- I got 1 mosin kill at the end of a round I joined. the map changed minutes later. I got credit for 4. hmmm.

I didn't buy this game for stats. I could care less about them. If it can't be done right...why bother? If 'fixing' the stats is part of what halved my performance, what was really accomplished there?

As good as this game CAN be...and as good as it MIGHT one day be, I still think Tripwire might have over-reached themselves. ROHoS is trying to do TOO much and be too many things to too many people. I can't speak for everyone, but all I really wanted was a continuation of the solid game-play and immersion that I had with ROOst with its quirks ironed out. That's it. I would have paid 49.99 USD for just that.

I'm pretty disappointed with the new patch. Some observations with my system, being i5 650 @ 3.20, 8 gb RAM, HD 5770, Win7 64:

1. My FPS has gone from a STEADY 40-50 fps to 16-33 fps.

2. Commissar's house in now unplayable; I am averaging only 16-24 fps
on this map. How the hell are you supposed to PLAY it at that fps?

It's actually very easy, I should know since my FPS is a steady 15-19 since the Beta and on all maps.... yet I'm still in the top 5 on my team in most matches. (Using a GeForce 210 - 4GB)

Regardless if I have my settings on low or ultra, my FPS's don't change, so I have everything set to Ultra.

^ I seem to be doing just fine, what's your excuse? :p

..... 6. I played about 10 rounds. I now seem to load the maps slower compared to other players. 75% I got stuck with a bolty. Once I got assault on Russian (whoopty-doo, AVT), and once squad leader. If you don't have a mega-fast computer/connection, you are essentially screwed.

Which has always been the case in all previous RO's..... nothing new.

After undergoing horrific freezing (like, .5 FPS or less) on every map for a minute or so while it, I guess, loaded textures, my performance is way up.

There's a reason I have you on ignore ... I don't know why this one showed. So, what's your contribution to this thread? To state that your computer sucks, but you're nonetheless awesome and I suck because I can't play a map at 16 fps? Please get back under your bridge, there are tolls for you to collect.

P.S. You look like nothing but a kill-whore to me. 47 kills and a whopping 97 team points ... guys with single-digit kills are outscoring you! So you're, what, hiding way off the objectives getting worthless kills? Way to go, team player!

You should turn on one frame thread lag if you have it off and are not getting decent performance. That is a uber setting and should only be used if you have a beast CPU and/or you're ok with the framerate hit it causes. As such, I'd strongly recommend to turn it off. That is the default setting, and that is how we do all performance benchmarking.

wait....turn it ON or turn it OFF if I have a mid-range CPU.

my rig is PhII x3 720 w/ HD6870, 4 gigs ram, Win7x64.

These are the same settings I was playing at 40-50 fps yesterday ... including no one frame thread lag ... are we getting back to, "It's not the patch, it's your computers" again?

Wait, please don't log off.. You say on then off.. The default setting is ON not OFF, did you typo? What should we be doing with non "beast" CPUs?

Yeah I'm with Private Who?, this was a little confusing.

2.8 ghz dual core CPU: one frame lag ON or OFF?

And you guys didn't think it would be a good idea to give some indication of that in the options? I didn't know it what it was an turned it off hoping it would boost my FPS. And if I recall I think it did. But now i'm going to go try an make sure.

I'm going to assume you meant on the second time since that's the real default setting.

My game was working very good, 60 fps sometimes!, mostly is steady between 40 and 50, and now the patch came around and performance has gone down the sh*tter...

Exactly what happened to me ... down from 40-50 average (35 LOOOOOW, 60-63 sometimes high) until today ... now I'm at 16 on the low end and topping off at an absolute, occasional high fps of 34 since the new patch today.

It is turned off, and I still get 10-20 FPS. I know it isn't my system because every other game I have played on this, I turned the graphic settings all the way up and it ALWAYS works fine. I love this game, but playing with the FPS I get is extremely frustrating.

That setting puts you at a disadvantage against a player with it turned off. Before today's patch, I was running a steady 40-50 fps with one-frame thread lag turned off, so why would THAT suddenly be the "cause" of the reduced fps which coincidentally just started since the new patch?

Because it's easy to blame it on a random option and call it a day.

My FPS is pretty much the same, except Scopes don't drop my FPS as hard as they used to. An improvement, but not much to be sure.

My rig is kind of old, but it's not even being maxed out!

my GPU hits 70%, and my CPU hits 60%, and my FPS can dive as low as 30. So it's not even using all my resources.

Q6600 @ 3.3GHZ
GTX470(Slightly OC'ed)
4GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit

Real shocker, as Unreal Engine 3 is optimized in pretty much every other game I've played. The maps aren't nearly as big as I thought they'd be, either. Kinda small, to be honest, compared to RO at least.

I have forced AA to my graphics card software, fiddled with some settings on the graphics card software, and now I'm running with most settings on ultra with 45-60 fps.

1# get good paying job
2# come to terms with the fact your computer is old and outdated
3# get a modern computer, look into I7 920 processor, ATI HD 4 or 5, 8gigs DDR4

Your CPU, GFX card and OS are not helping you.
what are you talking about. his graphics card isn't bad. I have a HD6770m, which is way below his and i can run the game with med/high graphics @ approx 40-50 fps
