Hello, i was just wondering whether there were any plans to bring back the ability to select the FOV in settings? Would be nice not to have tunnel vision on the larger maps - Ogledow and the new maps being built.

There were some bugs involving it, we just gotto wait and see if they patch it back. But i doubt it's that high on their list.

Yeah, I think it caused clipping issues - making certain walls disappear? To be honest though, that still happens to me regularly when prone and crawling tight along a wall :) I often wonder if I'm also visible at that point to players inside, but keep forgetting to try and test it :) heh

The clipping was just worse at 90 FOV and until they fix those issues, its unlikely we will see those changes. I actually prefer 90 FOV myself.

That's a pity. It's definitely the highest item on my list. I see so many people manage to walk within meters of each other without noticing, when spectating. The peripheral indicators are completely contradictory to what this game is perceived to offer. Also, the clipping I see is so serious I can't see how it could be any worse, game-play wise. As is too common in life, the satisfaction of the majority is reduced by efforts to 'control' a minority... of people who would exploit the bug.

Yes, me2.
But even on FOV75 when you are close to the wall, wall will disappear.

Yep, I get that regularly, especially when prone. Is it simply a case of walls being clipped for rendering on *your* client, or do you physically clip into the wall, so people on the other side can see you? I get the feeling it's rendering issue only, but haven't managed to test it to get an answer. It often does feel like part of my arm goes through, and then when the wall clips out I instantly feel like everyone can see me :) heh

Fortunately I rarely ever see anyone clipping thru a wall and if I do it is only the tip of a rifle. This is one area that is a great improvement over ROOST.

Indeed, shooting peoples feet through a wall always felt wrong, though fun:D
Still happens once or twice for me, not really an issue though.

I dislike playing with blinders on, 90 FOV is my preferred as well. I haven't seen much clipping at all with other players although I do occasionally get shot by the top of a helmet..... ;)

I've tried changing the FOV in the configs, but have never gotten it to stay for very long.

You've got to set it to read only. Also, once you're in game it'll reset back to default if you go in the options menu. Luckily, I very rarely have a reason to go in there.

Yes, this is true. The first screen of options has the FoV slider in it, an it will only go to 75; Hence, your FoV is reset to 75 once you enter that screen. That being said, I have no issues with FoV 80.

Running at 90 degree FOV would just be handicapping yourself in this game. It's not the sort of twitch action game where you spend a lot of time dancing around in close-range combat, especially not compared to the time spent on moderate range target spotting. This is one of the very few games where a low default FOV is actually useful.

It'd be especially damning since all the zoom views are currently multipliers to the base FOV rather than a fixed value. You'd be crippling your visibility at all ranges.

Runnin 90 degree is not a handicap in any game. The advantage of having a wider view is always useful. It's a shame to have 16:9 HD monitor and not be able to use the proper FOV, natural for such resolution and size.
