Foster and 70 years later?

I still want some of the old cast back just so I can pick them if the new cast ends up mostly unlikeable.

Santa should be back. He's supposed to be immortal. Though I doubt they'd get Gary Busey back for his voice.

Maybe Anton could get stuck in another frozen pod...or the last one had some effects on his aging.

Someone else is seen fighting zeds and wearing a Mr. Foster gas mask in honor of the original Mr. Foster. and serves as inspiration for the troops. Of course, everyone knows he's not the real Mr. Foster...or is he?

I doubt Father Alberts will be back (though I'd be pleased as punch if he did).

That's kind of a weird request. You could ask the same for weapons or even perks (assuming we might get some reworks/additions) honestly. And if every game did that well... why would they even take any risks to begin with?

I do concur that Santa and Anton could theoretically come back. Hell, I was surprised Tripwire went as far as letting us play a literal nazi... why couldn't we do it again?

The fact we have a Mrs Foster does make me think it could be a persona rather than a single person. I could see a new, different "Foster" putting on the mask. But I could say the same about other weirdos like the Chickenator honestly.

Except there's little risk with my request. If KF3 is true to form with the previous games, characters will remain as cosmetics with no impact on gameplay like weapons or perks. Gameplay is untouched unless characters actually get abilities (For the record though, I still prefer abilities obtained through perks exclusively). And I'm not even asking for everyone to come back, just some. If anything else, it's a fail safe so no one in the community will complain if they end up disliking the new crew. People will eventually try out the new crew anyways but at least the initial start will be easier.

Plus the main thing judging from the Steam forums that people complain about cosmetic-wise is the heavy use of neon stuff by players. (I personally like the neon stuff)

But that's the thing : if you want to play with the OG characters... go play Killing Floor 2. We're getting a new game, it's only natural we'll get some new faces as well, especially with the huge leap in time. I'd much rather have new characters that may (or may not) be less interesting than the KF2 ones, instead of recycling them yet again. It's not as if KF2 was pristine either : Ana's accent is atrocious. I haven't seen either a Donovan or Tom Banner in years. And D.A.R. is a funny concept that quickly grows old. I assume KF3 will have a similar, potentially mixed, bag.

I guess however that it's also a matter of taste. I've always been more keen to find a brand new game in a franchise, rather than a big expansion branded as a new game. Hence why I was bored by Overwatch 2 long before its release. Or why many people (including myself) were facepalming at Valve releasing Left 4 Dead 2 just one year after the first. But I guess you shouldn't fix what isn't broken.

As for cosmetics... I could go on forever at what I DISLIKE about Killing Floor's choices. Way too many backpacks, way too much silly stuff, very repetitive rewards if using the Vault. And a lack of options to truly get what you want unless you're paying extra. Being able to AT LEAST choose which weapon or which class you'll get an item for would be pretty neat.
