Former RO player from 05/06 thinking about starting up again

Hello everybody! I started playing RO with the very first version back in 05 or 06 (don't remember exactly when) when the make something unreal contest was still going on. It was the only game i played for a year or two, and i even joined a couple clans, [CiA], and [5FJ](i think thats what it was called for one of the early themed campaigns, battle for europe maybe?). Stopped playing around the time that combined arms was released due to various factors.

I highly doubt anyone will remember me, but my name was Der_kommissar. I don't know if anybody i knew then is even still playing. I can only remember a few - [CiA]Banksy, Jell0, Anubis... uh not that many i guess.

I still remember the satisfaction that RO provides when you drop a guy a couple hundred yards away with iron sights and realistic ballistics.

Is there still a pretty steady user base? are updates still being released?


I read a couple threads that mentioned trial invites? Would anyone care to share one with me? I'm a college student without much spare cash so that would be nice if at all possible.

There are still many playing RO, there are mods available, Mare Nostrum and Darkest Hour. Steam now has all the updates.

sorry i dont remember you but i thought it was worth replying because i am in a similar position, except i have already started playing, and i have to say im loving it!! Its just as good as that feelin you used to get! I feel like the population has shrunk but you know it has left the best behind, the ones who are really in it! And the user base is steady and reliable. Im glad i came back. Its just a shame more people dont play the mods....

Enjoy Red Orchestra, it is one fine game but it does take a while to get used to...

I haven't played in a long long time, I was pretty good tho now I get owned !

CiA/CoR renamed themselves [TK] and still have active members from the mod. I don't know how many play RO much but the guys are still around.

Well lots of the guys/gals from CIA/COR, now [TK] Thriller Knights. are still active. I never played the mod and I am new to the clan. You should visit the web site and make a post. Our TS is active most nights, you might even find some of the old timers there. Hope to see you soon.

Try the Darkest Hour MOD.....Personally speaking, I think this better than RO.

It is simply awesome, especially maps made by Schutzsepp. FOY, La Gleize, and Raid just to name a few.

It breathed some fresh air and brought me back playing this game!
