i tested it this afternoon and i must say its working nicely.
i'd rather have server side detection if the latency was lower and more stable, but until that happens the mutator is a good option. and since its optional, everybody wins!

I've enjoyed it so far. You no longer have to apply lead correction to your shots based on your latency. So every game you play the weapon ballistics behave exactly the same.. I really like the fact that I feel like I am using a rifle with a round traveling at over 2500fps. The rounds travel down range instantaneously like they should at the engagement distances we play at.

One issue I do have is the client side hit detection makes the R02 gameplay even easier. Running around and quickly ADS and firing with pinpoint accuracy is even more apparent now. It's like having the rifles mounted in a mobile vise on wheels while you are moving and firing..there is no accounting for the fact that an actual human being is holding the rifle. It's just a lot more apparent now.

I believe once Classic mode gets here and there is more deviation and sway added things will balace themselves out when using the client side hit detection.

Anyway it is nice to try out the differences with this mutator :)

+1... That really is the feel I get sometimes.

I haven't seen it on any major ranked servers yet.Go to unranked servers and they should say that their running this mod there is 3-4.The hard part is finding one with over 8 people but they have bot so u can do basic testing.

For the time being, it can't be on a ranked server. Until a mutator is whitelisted by TWI, running it makes your server unranked. I haven't submitted a final version to Tripwire to whitelist yet.

Hey, when are you planning on releasing the complex physics "edition" of this mutator? Or is there no plan ;)

Just tried this out with a ping of 260 (bots only) and it was like I was playing
with a ping of 30. A most awesome mutator. Well done!
Get this puppy whitelisted stat!

Trying out this mutator made me feel comfortable for the first time in RO2 and ROOST. I am used to games like work like the mutator, and to have that comfort I have in other games in RO2 was awesome =).

Played it last night on spartanovka.

Don't know if this is a general bug or specific to the mutator (though I've never seen it before), but was playing axis with the semi auto rifle, behind cover at the ammo spawn at housing block 2, leant round corner and started firing and never had to reload.

This only happened by the ammo dump which made me think it could be a general bug, but I basically sat there firing at Russians for about five minutes constantly. It was great (if terrible).

Eugh. Right, I'd forgotten about that one. That's a bug in the stock game. It's not such a big deal normally since, while the firing animation keeps showing up on your client, the bullet doesn't actually fire on the server once you're out of ammo. I'm guessing that since I've got clients actually firing bullets, that's kind of a big deal now. Grump. I'll have to see if I can fix that on my end somehow.

I had a bug yesterday, it's might not be related but a lot of times the reaload animation didn't play (but a new mag was loaded). That happens sometimes on standard servers too, but not as much as it did now. I didn't seem to run out of fresh clips either after firing at bots continually for minutes (with a bolt).

Not sure if it has anything to do with this mutator but since your talking about ammo/reload bugs I though I should mention it.

If you don't like the mutator, then I have a better solution. Goto a server near to you that doesn't run the mutator. If you don't have one near you buy one.

Yes, perfect solution. Tell everyone to go buy a server so they can sit there by their lonesome and listen to the crickets chirp.....LOL

The real issue here is not the games hit detection. It works fine if you have a stable internet connection and the ping stays under 150. I play 2fg all the time and leading for lag is a breeze for me and I hover around 120. @ issue here is your ****ty internet connections. No game no matter what style hit detection is going to work right when your ping is over 150+. Seriously?

I guess with COD and BF many people have become accustomed to the clientside hit detection and clientside server model that always produces ****ty pings and ****ty performance. You want a good game without all the bull**** you cry about? Host a server near you and populate it with friends. I'm sure you can find enough people in a 1500mile radius to populate a server. and get sub 80ping for everyone.
