Wouldn't that just mean other things in the game need to be adjusted (like *ahem* sway)?

After all, the mutator just means the ballistics in game match ballistics in the real world - you do not have to lead a moving target by nearly as much in reality as you do in the game - especially not at short range.

For what it's worth, I'd rather play on a server with 300 ping and the mutator on, than on a server with 60 ping and the mutator off.

It's just that much better.

That could be as it was discussed when I was on the server, but I am not convinced. As I mentioned in another thread, I swore I shot behind someone running and I still killed him, and one I didn't mention that I hipshot and killed someone who was to the right of my screen when the rifle was pointing towards the left.

Were those bugs, just my imagination, or was it designed that way? Don't know. It currently seems to easy now and it feels like I am cheating. The only consolation would be that everyone else is doing the same thing.

As I said, just my opinion and I need to test it more.

My initial opinion is that it is too easy to hit a target right now for me. I will have to try it more to be fair.

But, if it stays that easy to hit someone, then I will actually be disappointed.

I think that's more of an issue with people who don't know how to act in a firefight. Peeking from behind of chest-high-walls is a wrong way to do it :D

I actually rather like that. Mind, it only affects targets that are moving (Though that includes targets fidgeting behind cover), so it basically makes the people running around in the open properly vulnerable. I suspect it's going to be a fairly significant adjustment to make (It's surprisingly hard to stop leading people by ridiculous amounts! Stupid conditioning), but I also suspect the adjustment in tactics it'll lead to could be nice. A bit part of the SMG/MG hip-fire rushing that people have complained about is that such moving targets are artificially hard to hit. Now that a rifleman can hit that running target somewhat reliably, they're going to have to work a bit more tactically rather than relying on zig-zagging and latency to save them.

Well, hipshooting also seems far more effective now that hits are registering immediately.

I really need to see this on a large scale, 32+ players, and with larger pings. The rounds I tried it with everyone had ~30ms anyway so there wasn't much to experience as a benefit besides the hit markers.

Yeah, when I was playing on populated servers with it, we were already starting to see a drastic shift in gameplay. It's vastly easier to hit people, but of course, that also means it's vastly easier to BE hit. Giving someone a clean shot at you is suddenly a very bad thing that no amount of zig-zagging can save you from.

I was starting to feel very vulnerable without the usual safety of the networking armor, and the others were playing more cautiously, too. Those Countdown matches were very tense.

I actually felt more inclined to take risks knowing I could hit an enemy outright.

But like I said I'd rather see a larger test of this, there were only a handful of people playing when I was giving it a look.

I think there's a bug when you kill someone by dealing the final blow in the LUpperArm while hip firing the MG34; it'll crash you.

this! it's a game-changer! back to covering yer azz, instead of just running and zig-zagging knowing the chances of them hitting you with that mg are slim! lol

have you tried the gameplay on a server with the mutator installed?

correct. lots more testing needs to be done before we know for sure. but aside from the wierd hits you suffred, it seems to be just what this game needed. the good news is that Ramm was one of the first guys testing this out. twi is aware of the mod and are at this moment discussing it. ifd a major bug isn't found soon, i see this getting whitelisted and going on most servers. (and i rearely do the nostradomus stuff) :D

Oh yeah I actually found myself worried about running around in the open unlike before when I had the impenetrable armor of lag to guard me. Now I better be sure theres no one around or ask for some cover fire or find an alternate route. Can't wait to get off work and play some more though :)

Heh, I know! Arm was feeling a bit better, so I got a little time in on a server running it. It was kind of surprising how much tension there was, running through an open space! Knowing you're easily killed in the open makes running much more of a risk/reward thing, rather than being the safest thing you could do. I really like the way it works now :>

If you perceive any weird shot behavior, try to compare the debug graphics to the events. Any discrepancies should be visually apparent, and a screenshot of them would help immensely with finding an issue. That's what they're there for.

I try for an hour, when FK_Feldjager invite me in TE-commisar and CD-Station, but at 1,14 Cet i must to go bed :D
My ping is around 60-80 in that server.

In that server i crash 1 time, and have some bugs, like i take a weapon from the floor and anytime i spawn i have that weapon with me, sometime i don't see kill message or objective icon with tactical vision, when i trow all granate i can't return to my primary or secondary weapon...

This is for me and for who are in Ts with me...

The hit reg is fantastic but i'm not so excited to change the hit reg in client, Imho if my ping is 400 is my ****... and if i kill someone is my skill:eek:
Hi, gr3y soul. If you picked up an SVT and always spawned with it, the mutator developer has included that for side by side comparisons. The SVT doesn't have the anti-lag applied to it, and every player spawns with it.

THIS, is what it is all about!
what's the point, if you live in central europe and have a great ping/no lag when shooting, if you have no one to play with? you have 1,000 players now, you say? bahh! not too far off, you'd be wishing you could find a full server.
i'm living on the fringes of this game (west coast u.s.) and i say it's shakey, at best, as far as player count.
THIS MUTATOR SEEMS TO MAKE ALL PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD HAVE EQUALITY IN SHOOTING! WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THAT?
P.S. if you don't like that, i'm sad for you ,
