I would post a video but I don't feel like it.

Then why did you post this sentence?

It all depends on what is wiping the team. If a firebug is what's helping you survive the people you play with suck at crowd control - as that's what the firebug does - and thus a commando played properly should be equally adequate at keeping the team alive. Focus on the trash, and clear it out.

As with Commandos, Firebugs should focus on crowd control and leave Scrakes/FPs to Sharpshooters, Demos, or Supports. If people piss it off 90% of the team is going to focus fire on it. Take the time enough to light it up but keep the crowd off of the team.

There really shouldn't be any problem with transitioning to Commando from Firebug, man. They fill the same roll, albeit slightly differently (where FB's unique twist on crowd control is DoT burn damage, Commando's twist the ability to extend out ZED time to an insanely life-saving degree)

I think OP said something about having a lot of Supports in his games. This along with the fact that Firebug keeps his team alive while Commando is getting it killed might also mean that his team simply spends way too much time reloading. Even with it's reload bonus a lower-level Commando needs to reload quite often, while a Firebug can pump out several seconds of sustained fire to keep the team from being overwhelmed.

Your team simply needs to time their reloads better.

I see firebug as a force multiplier. With it spraying crowds, I can use 9mm and bullpup more often, I think of it as making everyone else's weapons stronger.

I also see Firebug as a debuff class. In that case OP's team simply can't pump out enough DPS for it's difficulty.

Meaning that many times you hit gorefasts and clots on the head multiple times with SCAR and nothing happens while with bullpup you behead every single time with 1-3 shots, even when hip-firing.

That would only happen if you miss.

Just spend a good amount of time playing on the Santa map, and one round I ended up on a team with a fantastic firebug.

We were all in the little loft area right down the connecting hallway to Santa's Chair, and he would stand on the wood planks and torch everything coming up the stairs. I was support at the top of the stairs taking out most things with another teammate, while the rest watched the Firebug's ***. I don't think I had to deal with a Fleshpound with full health once, it was awesome.

We didn't make it past the Patty, someone blocked a door and half the team got rocketed early on. Still, props to the guy. His ingame name was jason.(something), don't remember all of it.

In all fairness, it could be also due to the crappy head hitboxes. I have noticed at times, especially with gorefasts, that the giant cookie head isn't the head hitbox. Thankfully, the zeds revert sometime today. I haven't played much since the update, specifically because of the christmas zeds.
