I'd say that's pretty much it, I've had success with this stuff really. Nicely done!

I'll just say however that while I've known about groundfire doing more damage generally, I've never played like that or relied on it at all. Firebug seems to keep damage up without that trick from what I've seen.

Another little trick, related to tapping the fire button, with any like the Caulk for example: It's still doing damage after you've stopped firing yes? Well continue to aim at the place you want to damage (as if it was a normal gun) for about 1 second after all the flames from your gun have disappeared. At the very end there, it seems to do enough damage to mysteriously pop gorefast heads, bloat heads, any really.

So yeah, if you want a bloat or gorefast incapacitated immediately and only have a Caulk, continue to aim at the head after firing! It'll pop!

Somehow I don't feel like creating an in-depth Firebug guide this time :(

Thanks for yours anyway. One question though, does splash damage really not affect the target you initially hit? That would explain why not hitting a scrake yields generally better results (minus heatwave stumbles).

Splash damage would be a different damage output to direct damage I think. Splash damage skill makes it something like 20-40 I think, more than the direct beam anyway.

For all other guns though, like the flamethrower, the additional splash damage is actually like 2-3 points of extra damage. Only worth it with the Microwave gun really, I take range if I'm rocking the flamethrower!

That's what I already know. My question was can a zed take either direct hit damage or splash damage - or - can it be affected by both at the same time? :)

This time? Have you made one for KF1 or something?

I've found nothing to suggest it's possible, but for all I know it can be done in very specific circumstances.

Yes I did make one for KF1. However, I don't understand your answer

I traditionally hate firebug but I've come to love the Microwave Gun and this guide was very helpful to learn how to use it. I hope it won't get nerfed, it's one of few weapons in the game that are fun right now.

I think the Microwave Gun does not need any nerf, it's a good weapon but it has to be used correctly as it is explained in this guide in order to save ammo and maximize the damage. After you shoot at two fleshpound and some scrakes you will be without ammo and firebug weapons get little ammo from the ammo boxes.

Nice video Smug Blue Dragon, didn't know anything about this mechanics, now i know how to use firebug weapons correctly :p

Using it correctly is not a matter of game expertise or personal skill with the weapon/perk. Usually you wouldn't even find out about this "mechanic" because it's highly inintuitive and arbitrarly designed. There is no logic or any sense of it behind the idea...

Either you read a guide and learn about this stupid concept and as a result instantly double or triple your efficiency with that weapon or you don't.
