The FDF has released archives of WWII pictures mostly taken by official war photographers, around 170 000 of them. The high quality pictures are free to use as long as source is mentioned. All captions are original, in Finnish, written by the persons who took the pictures along with the date it was taken. Some color correction etc. has been done, but things like scratches are left as in the original photo.

The service might be slow/unresponsive, as the popularity of the service exceeded their estimates, and it even completely crashed on the launch date. Hopefully this will go away in time.

A word of caution: The pictures are not censored, so there are dead, frozen bodies among those pictures along with other horrors of war.

Pretty nice quality pics, some SVT-40 prototype?

E: no downsizing, link: http://i.imgur.com/3BixvMx.jpg
E2: It's their entire archive of 170 000 photographs, not 17 000.

Thanks, added the missing zero. That gun is SVT-38, so it is an SVT-40 prototype. Interesting point though is the magazine, it really looks like it came from the Finnish LS-26 LMG. Some custom experimental gun?

A few keywords for searching weapons:
Submachinegun: konepistool*
Pistol: pistool*
Rifle: kiv

On page 670 or so :)p) there is a rifle with a curved detachable magazine. Looks a bit like an SVT. What is it? Sorry, I closed the page.
