maybe if ur lieing on the ground dieing some one can finish u off. In 2 ways this can be incorporated in ro:hos

A: u stab the guy or something and the guy has a certain death animation

B: similar to GOW the person finishing who ever off has there own animation of them finishnig the person off. and u can see ur self being finished off through ur own eyes. when i say through ur own eyes i mean something like in moh pacific assault when ur on the ground dieing and lets say a japanese would put his hand in front of his face and turn away a little bit and wince a little and shoot and then darkness O_O also when ur on the ground and u get bayonetted and stuff. just soem cool thoughts

keep in mind the whoel seeing hrough ur own eys can also be incorporated for method A.

this may be conisdered a little confusing to read, if it needs clarification then id be happy to :)

I do not think many players will relish being in a dying state while waiting for someone to come administer a humiliating finishing move. Anyone in such a state should already have been treated as a casualty and placed back in the reinforcements queue.

Not to mention that (I'm pretty sure) summarily executing wounded and incapacitated soliders is a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.

Well the USSR never signed the Conventions, also the Haag's Ground Warefare Convention was never signed by the USSR. So it was a "law-free" war. Germany Reich had signed the Conventions, but to be honest, I don't think a state fighting a state that hasn't signed these Conventions, needs to keep up following them to the fullest.

Anyhow such things would throw our German comrades from line, cause the "awesome" Federal Republic's censorship would annihilate the game yet before it was released. Shouldn't do that, should we?

Even if the USSR never signed it, and even though it's a video game, there's still to a degree individual human morals. I don't know if I'd find a game very enjoyable where I have to bayonet an incapacitated enemy soldier who has no chance of fighting back. I know it's war, but let the man live to be sent home. In Gears of War, it's different because you are finishing off aliens and men who we really have no relation to. It's a complicated arguement. You can criticize me for not wanting to "finish" someone off, yet I can be perfectly fine killing hundreds of soldiers in-game.

It could work in singleplayer. Not so much in multiplayer though. I gotta say, the stabbinganimation in Call of Duty: World at War was kinda nice. Wouldn't mind seeing something similar in RO:HoS.

Sure I get your idea. I guess it's normal that someone doesn't want to be that cruel. Cause it's like the scene in CoD WaW where Reznov asks Cernov "what's going on?" as three German soldiers are trying to surrender. If the player doesn't shoot them Reznov states "You should have shot them, Chernov. It is only cruel to prolong an animal's suffering."

I hate this scene till this day. I can truely understand your thoughts. :)

It would be kind of cool if bullet impacts damage corpses. Like MG firing at a downed soldier and puffs of blood come off kind of how grenades work now only with bullets. Or once you are incapacitated and wait for spawn your wounded soldier is AI controlled and will crawl or writhe in pain until someone finishes him off or he bleeds out. Other players could get points for aiding the downed soldier by bandaging him. I guess its somewhat similar to AA3 but aiding the soldier does not bring him back him back to life unrealistically just stabilizes him. The real benefit would be that the soldier wouldn't count as a loss to reinforcements and that would be the incentive for you to help a down comrade. Just an idea!

Germany:
In the left corner the animal rotten Caucasian Untermensch and in the right corner our brave soldier leading the way to Moscow!

U.S.S.R.:
In the right corner the evil of the evil, the Hitleride Invaders and in the left our strong soldier defending the worker class!

@Lemon: Nice one! I yet know the picture it but it surely states the BS behind the two announcements of either Germany or U.S.S.R. :)
