I'm looking forward to this very much. Also I heard they said there will be no pixel hunting, which I'm glad to hear.

If there is a varying level of zoom for the iron sights then they can count me out of a purchase. It just causes too many technical issues.

Regardless, even with zoom, you still pixel hunt. I for one liked distance shots gameplay wise anyways.

I doubt they'd do that considering the amount of backlash TWI got for implementing it in RO2. If the whole "no pixel hunting" thing is true, then it will likely be a slightly higher forced-IS zoom that applies to all weapons.

I don't mind slight iron sight zoom, if it is slight and fixed. My next concern is over done suppression. In RO2 everything suppresses you and your vision is black/white about 30% of the time.

Though we will have to wait and see. Luckily I think Cryengine 3 will not suffer the horrid UE3 texture pop in issue and can probably handle larger environments without having such noticeable LOD levels. I am really glad they made the switch. And to top it off, the graphics will probably look a lot better. My only hope is my GTX 670 PE can run it well.

Oh god the pop ins, I just got RS beta today and man the general experience is good but the horrid pop in textures and bushes really do hold the atmosphere back. Oh well engine limitations , we can only it goes better with FE.

It is easily my biggest complaint with Rising Storm. Even when you respawn, your weapon textures are blurry for a few seconds.

Luckily Crysis Wars (2008, Cryengine 2) handled foliage well with no texture pop in on my GTX 260. I have a feeling Cryengine 3 will serve Festung Europa well. Now, the only issue is it might require one powerful PC. The areas with lots of brush in Crysis 3 bring my GTX 670 PE down to 20-22 frame rates.

Lets hope the PC required to play this with reasonable settings isn't beyond most of the target audience :D

What's a Zeltbahn, some kind of railway with tents???

Shelter quarter which can be combined with as many other quarters to make a small cover for rain, tent, larger tent, worn as improvised rain coat\camouflage or quite a many things to be honest.

Spoiler!

Don't listen to them, what it really is is the Holy Grail of gaming verisimilitude, at least to every realismfag/SS-fanboy/internet-historian :p
You simply can't deny the awesomeness!

I haven't played a big multiplayer game on Cry Engine 3 yet, so this should be interesting. Hopefully turning down foliage quality doesn't remove all the vegetation. Its a day and night difference for games that allow that :(

I'm also looking forward to Traction Wars, same concept but Free 2 Play. British / Commonwealth vs Germans in Normandy on Cry Engine 3.
