it's called a chamber check, and it's why the M70 series of AK uses a different magazine.

Maybe you should become more informed?

Whether you should actually do it is a point of discussion and training, but no it isn't just "gun porn"

It's not a chamber check. He's literally staring at the gun for 2 seconds lol.

Not to mention why would you do a chamber check for every single reload anyway? You should trust the thing is gonna work if it makes all the right sounds and feels right.

I played the hell out of PR. Not mention in squad they removed all those silly reload animations. Half the guns had unnecessary crap and were done REALLY slooooooowly.

It's not realistic their animator just had fun. Slow doesn't mean realism lol.

link me that reload where they literally stare at it for 2 seconds.

you chamber check for every reload if you do chamber check... "You should trust the thing is gonna work if it makes all the right sounds and feels right."
really man? that's literally how not war works.

The M16. That's great. Press R on your keyboard. Does he go for the magazine release? No. He looks at the gun. Turns it over in his hands. Then there's the flippen G3 reload holy ****. I haven't played PR since squads release but the reloads in PR were the main annoyance.

Over here, no not there, here.
*watches gun animations for an hour
. . .wait what now?
Oh right. Well I've seen people do that thing where they check the ejection port on AR-15s; I figured it's because there isn't really any easy indication of the bolt's position other than just looking right at it. Although there isn't really much reason to do that with an AK :/

The idea is still technically useful on an AK to confirm your weapon is in fact empty and didn't happen to malfunction on the last round of a magazine before you reload. That being said, is it necessary? 99.99% of the time, no, not really imo.

Now checking it AFTER you've reloaded AND just charged the weapon? Yeah, totally redundant and silly imo.

Yeah since that's what he does in PR I sortof take issue with it. I mean I can imagine doing it to make sure the bolt went all the way home, but I would expect that not to be a problem the vast majority of the time.

It definitely shouldn't be a problem.
Personally I think if you don't trust your weapon enough to go into battery properly after reloading it like the soldiers of PR do, you may want to just pick up better weapon that actually functions properly at that point(assuming the weapon isn't filled with dirt or something, causing it to potentially malfunction, but all the PR weapons look pretty clean to me). Basically goes for any weapon, AR, AK, anything imo.

Just don't make it slow and stupid as **** like PR.

PR feek realistic because of it , because you need to hide the empty mag, take a new one and charge your weapon to prepare to fire, most suitable example here is a Squad game to see it in first person.
I dont want to see fake reload animations like it was with Nagan gun in RO2.

Squad has much better reloads than PR. We just went over why PR reloads are terrible.

Squad's been on my wishlist for sometime now, when it comes to the animations I was actually quite struck how they actually animated the manipulation of the safety when you drew or holstered your weapon. Thought it was a neat attention to detail.

I'm not in support of increasing the reload animation time at all. If anything maybe allow some sort of toggle in the server settings to increase reload times, for those who prefer a longer reload time. But increase the reload time, will most likely turn off casual player, and scare off the more competitive players.

6-7 second reload times? Insanity and we all know it. Does anyone realise how long that is? Just try counting 6 seconds in your head, its essentially reloading in slow motion like Squad did. It sucks, if I'm in the middle of a warzone within 100ft of my enemy I'M NOT going to be taking my time to grab ammo, and slowly load it, and slowly cock it - I have adrenaline rushing through me and I'm rushing everything.

Making reload times very long DO NOT MAKE THE GAME MORE REALISTIC and it will not change the way we play the game, Squad has relatively long reload times and its not something people think about, its a NON FACTOR. Changing it for RS 2 will not make people think about ammo or ammo management anymore than they already do.

Can you imagine the frustration that players will feel due to 7 second reload times when the enemy is a few feet away? I mean just imagine it for a moment an enemy is near you when your gun clicks, you click the R button and it takes 7 SECONDS TO RELOAD. It takes all the adrenaline out of the encounter because you know you have no chance, so you're just accepting your fate. Currently ingame, you know you have a chance to still kill the enemy so your adrenaline and fun levels spike during those encounters.

I could be wrong about real world reload times but I don't care, we have to keep in mind that this is a video game and not even a highly realistic one. If you want people to actually care about ammo management then there's a much better way - Give players only 3-4 clips when they spawn. Having this little ammo will actually force players to go "I have to make every shot count".

If you guys want to up the reload time go ahead but at-least don't make it something unbearable, keep the game fun, its why RS has a fan base. Do people really think anyone would play on the Jap team if it wasn't for Banzais?
