Ok Tripwire,

Fix the maps! Fix Comissars House. The idea that one side should be able to fire into the very spot where people spawn is ridiculous. You think its fun to wait 20 seconds to spawn and when you do all you see is the muzzleflash from a Mkb42 and then you have to wait 20 more seconds. This time you make it out of the spawnhouse only to be killed by artillery one second later. When your team finally takes the first two objectives the map ends because of lockdown.

You seriously need to listen to the feedback. I play this game less and less. Now all I can take is 20 minute sessions because its so damn tiresome with the unbalanced maps (not only in favour of the axis).

Half the maps need a serious overhaul. The tank AI need fixing. The squadsystem is laughable.

Sigh.

Totally understand your frustration..

I'm sure they'll address the issues, they just needed more time and better decisions with this game.

Why do you even bother ranting about these things, when you aren't specific enough?
Explain why you think that the current situation is wrong and what you would do to improve it. Tripwire can't really do much with "half of the maps need a serious overhaul".

Agreed. What's smoke for? Tell your TL / SL to lay down smoke via VoIP or command wheel. Work together with your team. You can't blame the game for that. And I don't think you can shoot that far into the spawn, that the axis can pick off the ruskies right on spawn. Correct me if I am wrong.

MKBs... can be turned off on custom servers. No need to get frustrated about them anymore.

To the artillery... as far as I know, the furthest spot for axis arty is the entrance to the water refinery. You can avoid that easily then.

In what way is the squad system laughable? Imo there could be some adjustments, but the funtion is there and alright. Again it is not the fault of the game if the players aren't using it properly.

Im starting to feel the frustration of these threads more and more.. Im now down to playing one match then exiting the entire game.. Its like waiting for something good to come of it all, but my patience is starting to wear down a bit.

Just some basic communication would help rather than this silence..

Not to mention that the real issue lies with the server admins and their rules, not Tripwire.

Are people camping and doing their best to spawn kill? Guess what, in most servers and game communities I play with, this is a quick ticket to ban-land for unsportsman like behavior.

no, the real issue lies with the developer. They failed at designing the game & maps to prevent people from dropping arty into spawn, shooting into spawn, parking a tank next to a spawn, etc.

If server is monitored by admin, then it'll certainly help but it is not the player's job to prevent these things. And when the community is so small and there is only 2~3 populated server for this game, there can't be admins for each server.

It IS the fault of the game if people don't have a chance to ****ing defend themselves a millisecond after they spawn, which is an issue on many of RO2's maps. It's unacceptable.

Also, smoke is rather worthless when a pretty solid chunk of the playerbase I've encountered seems to have turned off smoke in their games.

Yep I try to avoid fallen fighters now, on my higher GFX settings the russian main building is just barely visible through the fog of war, never mind being able to even see a man at that range. Yet if you run out the front of either building you get sniped by people in their main building .5 of a second later.

I hope there is a nice large 'mass ban' of all tweaked config users who tweak to give themselves an advantage

Then there's the times where there is a thick wall of smoke in front of me and I hear a single rifle shot, wham headshot, and I know by the sound that the other guy is on the far side of that smoke, not at all hindered by it.

There are less "cheaters" in the form of hackers in this game then there were at release, but there are a hell of a lot more tweakers.

Ok, so they 'fix' the issue, and allow you to spawn in peace.


Then all the players on the other team rush up, and blow you away the second you step out of the protected area? Sounds so much better, and is clearly a vast improvement to die a few seconds later instead of immediately.

Also, which maps allow you to drop artillery fire into spawn? I know you can drop them on the edge of spawn, but I've never been hit by it in the spawn area itself.

I can agree to your first point if that is the case. Like I said, I haven't seen a spawn where you could directly shoot into.

To your second point. Well that is indeed pretty lame. Isn't there any cvar check for pb to get rid of this?

I been playing on this without the P.IVs making so much better without them shooting into the spawn and the only times the Russians loose is due to dumb countdown on this map...

Lock down timer is a ***** and ruins maps imo, it should be a server option to have it on.

There 2 or 3 maps this happens for both sides
Some of the maps are just a joke sorry to say :confused:
Some Severs have taken off the tanks to help fix this
but the problem is still there
It hard to believe that TWI played some of these maps
with out seeing the problems they have

I agree with you. I play mostly as MG'er in that map. I have a perfect view of the spawn and I can shoot ruskies while they're spawning, sometimes I mow down the whole wave before they have any chance. It's not a good way of play, I know. But If it's not a glitch and the maps allows me to do it, I could argue that it's a valid tactic. That's why that map need a fix ASAP.

And about smoke, when you play as MG, you learn to shoot small bursts constantly to smoked areas, becuase obviously where you have smoke, there's a soldier trying to cross. Not always works, of course, but I lost account of how many kills I scored that way (which contrary to the spawn issue I spoke before, is a viable and legal tactic)

the arty fired at the Russian Entrance not only covers the entrance but the russian spawn
Team PLAY cant stop getting killed in the spawn WHEN not when the SL cant get out of the spawn
