And what about the crashes that's plaguing some of us after this patch went live? Any word on it would be appreciated as it literally renders RO2 unplayable at the moment.

If they game is crashing make sure to send in the crash dump when the game asks you to do so.

I also suggest deleting your mydocs/mygames/ro2 directory and trying to relaunch the game. This fixes most corrupt file issues.

And please don't do that right away if you're modding for the game. Move all your maps/mods to safe location then do as he said. ;) :p

Otherwise your stuff go bye bye :D

Well, thanks for the reply but all those precautions were already taken and most basic options have been exhausted (That's why I linked the thread). I'm not getting a prompt for my crash either but nevertheless I have provided one of my .dmp files in a post I made yesterday in the linked thread.

Thanks, I'm pretty meticulous with these things. I make a separate back up of my custom map files every time I exit the SDK.

I do wish you'd fixed the flying ragdolls though, it just looks rediculous...

Fact.

I'm a know-nothing with regards to programming - so can someone explain to me how -as companies patch games- they inevitably break completely random code unrelated to the fixes? Seems to happen with every RO2 patch (np system, physics, reinf count, menus, etc...) Can anyone explain that in less than 5 sentences?

Games are very complex programs. Systems that seemingly have no connection to other systems ofter interact in strange ways deep in the code. Any change change can have unintended effects. We try and minimize this with "HALO" testing where we test system around the system that is changed, but it doesn't catch everything.

Also the flying ragdolls are not a new issue. But the newer maps have locations that cause the issue more frequently. We are working to address it in the future.

It was the fix for the reinforcement bug.

Hi,

Why did not you wait and make a single time? . must still wait for the server Clan is up to date. Sent another ticket and wait for the update to the servers that are not up to date.

So the question remains what amount of time should we consider untill RO 2 will be bugless, glitchless, errorless free. I mean any of these problem can be fixed the only question that raises is time so how much time is it?

I think the reasonable question has to be based on industry standards. What is the industry approach to bugs, glitches and errors post release of a game?

Then the question would be to what extent has TWI surpassed those standards, and when would it be reasonable to expect the company to continue development of new chapters in its ongoing publishing saga?

Remembering if we all do that the maximum value of the product we bought is about that of a movie ticket, popcorn, and a hamburger for the busride home.

A reasonable expectation could be seeing the original SALES promises delivered and corrections of the various troublesome aspects of the game itself. IOW, fixing the glaring inconvenient features and bugs.

Releases are like the stepping stones in the path of corporate prosperity. Each stone builds toward the strengthening of a long and prosperous future. Lose, break or misplace a stone and that future is seriously jeopardized.

Consumer expectations are engendered by Corporate Sales Promises.

You do know you actually signed a EULA that gives the contract obligations, right? I would refer you to that document for details.

Steam otherwise gives an overview of sales promises that I think you will find surprisingly lacking in content.

What we feel has been promised to us beyond that point is of course highly individual. I think most of us confuse insights into what the developers are working on as promises to future content. Which is unfortunate as the easiest way to resolve the perception issues is by limiting insight into what the devs are working on.

The only real content issue is the Campaign game in my mind. My views on that are tempered by knowing TWI could release a stringed together series of maps any time it liked. Voila a campaign.

But overcoming hurdles such as players on the underdog team quiting because well they feel they are losing...is a challenge.

My personal view is that it is better not to release a campaign, than to release one that meets only the criteria of being a promised content.

But that could just be me.

That is not quite what the campaign mode is...

Its what the Campaign mode could be if the purpose was solely to honour a content promise back from pre-release days.

My point is that we all have gotten what we can reasonably expect from our purchase a long, long time ago.
