Since these maps are out of the mix until release, I'm curious to see what you guys think of them

Yeah I have to agree. I don't like it either and tbh I never ever played FF in RO1... speaks for its quality I guess? ^^ nobody ever voted it... I even thought the map was new to RO2 xDPerhaps it will grow on me a bit more in the future, but I'm finding that for Territory mode, I feel the same way about FF as Lucifer. They've taken a bad map from RO1 and made it worse (tanks are no longer useful on the map, hundreds of windows to snipe from, terrible spawns, map feels smaller).
In Count Down, at least the action is a bit more focused, you have to storm the buildings and defenders have very little time to get dug in before defending the square.
(tanks are no longer useful on the map
it's dumb, and it screams horrible map design.
No it doesn't. Tank sprays the windows with MG and main gun fire. Commander calls in artillery on their campsites. Squadleaders lay down a smoke screen as you advance to the next point of hard cover.
Rinse and repeat.
That is how it works on paper; this is how it works in-game:
Tank drives around aimlessly, shooting buildings. AT crews play "marksman" because the tank isn't a threat and going after it would just be suicide anyway. Commander is nowhere to be found. Squad leaders are in the windows with their squads, shooting across the map at the other team. Three guys throw their lives away for 15 minutes trying to get to central park.
