Agree! Wounder what kind of moron is responsible for that.
How could someone miss something big like that even more awkward that the LMGs in the game seems to be correct.

Its the CS effect, Gooseman of CS fame made this error back in the day, because he's lefthanded he made all his weapon models held lefthanded, and then just mirrored them for the righthanded view, making all the guns inverted (actually he worken on AQ2 aswell and made the error back then too).

Somehow this became a phad, i guess because people think it looks "kewl" to see shellcasings flying across the screen, and seeing the ejection port on the side of the gun instead of just the flat side of the reciver..

To anyone who actually knows anything at all about guns though, it just looks retarded, and i hope this phad will finally die soon (but it probably wont ).

Boss: "Listen Bob, you made a really nice and accurate model of the AKM, and John - the animation is good... for the most part. It just has to look cooler. And by cooler, I mean that the shell casings have to fly across the screen, and you have to see them coming out of the ejection port. Please mirror all of the guns."

John: "But... the gun is correct as it is..."

Boss: "Shut up and mirror the gun. 17 year-old Johnny demands it."

Yeah, that's how it went....

Yeah they're so obviously making this game for casual gamers, mirrored ejection ports totally ruin this game.

It had a malfunction too:p

I agree with you that this game looks extremely fun, but that m4 having a "malfunction" in rocket barrage was like a sucker punch while I was enjoying myself. The barrel would never just blow, not from just shooting it. There would be tell-tale signs that it was a gun in bad condition before anything like that would remotely happen. It would jam, it would have problems cycling rounds, and to blow it up, you'd probably have to melt the barrel first, which means that you'll probably get some multi-fire (a second or multiple of rounds firing from one trigger pull because the breach is too hot).

Also, What bolt-action rifle is that that it reloads stripper clips through the bottom?

That ammo cookoff in rope bridge was hawt though.

Oh well, I'm sure if this game is in anyway moddable and/or popular, that it'll be like Stalker and there'll be some major tweaking done. Looking forward to the release date though! :)

Actually that's not the video or the malfunction i saw. The one I saw (think it was the jungle jeep firefight) was just a misfeed and seemed kind of well integrated and realistic (not an expert on M4, but the way he cleared it would work for the G36).

IIRC you can load magazines into a Remington M70, but not stripper clips. The game is not going to be very realistic like that, no matter if you or I want it that way. I will be able to enjoy it anyways. I seriously hope the engine catches on with modders because it seems to run rather well and offer a lot.

Oi, my bad. :(

I know what you mean about the little stuff like that, it's just irritating when a game gets so close to being "right" and then you have gun's exploding and smoke trails on grenades and such. Im sure some of the first mods will be a reversal of the guns and tweaking of the percentage chance of the malfunctions and whatnot.

Meh also wish for a serious jungle warfare mod.

I just hope it comes with an SDK so they can make a realism mod, maybe even for multiplayer. That would be bad ***. I think I can still enjoy myself with the vanilla Far Cry 2 for the time being though.

I just preordered my copy today at HMV because of the four exclusive unlockable missions.

These missions will give gamers a glimpse at the events leading up to the game.

  • The Georgian: The Georgian informant has gone into hiding at the Fuel Depot in UFLL territory, find him and discover what your predecessor learned from him about the Jackal’s location.
  • The Bolivian: The Bolivian informant is on the run, trying to escape the country by stealing a plane from a small airfield in APR territory. Try to get to him before your predecessor does.
  • Special Delivery: Your employers have more information for you about your predecessor – learn the location of his new dead drop and raid it to find information about his secret meetings.
  • Le Francais: A French smuggler and arms dealer who may have been providing arms to the Jackal has been tipped off, and your predecessor is trying to stop him from crossing the border. Find out what Frenchman’s price is.

Looks nice but not very interesting.

I like the way the leaves fly of the branches...

Yeah, look we give different review scores to get attention. Just FYI GameSpy also rated R6 Vegas 2 with 90%(highest score at the same time). So I'd much rather count on the average % than on single reviews.
