I like the idea of customization of your character in game, but I think it should be limited for new players compared to vets of the game.

I don't mean new players have no ability to customize their characters, just their facial features and maybe one or two things in their uniforms. The more you unlock or progress, the more badges, medals, helmets, uniforms, etc. should be available.

Allow for some scar and age features for vet players to show they've been around and experienced.

Having proper customized uniforms for the maps and terrain is key, but it'd be foolish if you had to continually adjust your appearance each time you entered a map, thus I think where you change your player's name, etc. in the options should be where you manually select which uniform/appearance you want for winter, forest, dry terrains, and so on.

You will also need to have a setting for each era of each terrain because it'd be a bit silly to be on an early map using features not found until near the end of the war.

Sounds like a bit of work, but if done right, it could add a lot to the game.

players should have foliage and grass applied to their bodies in the outdoors environments of the game.

maybe not on their bodies but as a custom add on to the helmets at the beginning of the map or as a character setting (check the box that says add special camo to all applicable maps)... i got a pic somewhere but it is probably lost in the never-never-land of WWII books

So you quote me on saying that this is an verry early alpha version and then point out there are errors wich most likely are a direct consequence of the above said sentence.
Well, I HOPE that... but i'm not sure of it: i still see a lot of this kind of errors in released games.

After the alpha version comes the beta version, wich normally has all content ready but still is full of bugs that have to be eliminated in this version. It is also in the beta version where the game is being balanced.

After the beta version comes the final version wich is being shipped. :)
Actually you can see some games with a final version still bugged like the alpha one... even after the release of tons of patches. I just hope that we're not in this case... That's all. ;)

Btw i think the customizations in the final game will be probably integrated like in RO1: random, based on the kind of the map and on the year.

Which is always 1942.

Not quite exactly. Stalingrad was until February 1943. :p

Anyway I can't say it too often I really wish for a character customization menu which allows you to adjust small things like color of the field tunic. It's been discussed up and down that feldgrau (fieldgrey) has different appearances due to dyeing differences. Also you should be able to select different types of headgear, decide between pilotka and helmet. Add a foliage net to your helmet and foliage or leave it plain.
Face and voice selection included.

I know there's not much space for customization as the supplies were somewhat narrow and outfit was on division level, still some small personal adjustments would decrease the Wehrmacht's and Red Army's appearance as clone armies.

Also if orders and medals are awarded it would be nice if you could have them displayed on your character.
