Steam GL is currently a sh*t fest, excuse my language.

I mean at first it was open to everyone to put their fake games and games which they don't own the IP to on there. Now with the 100$ fee (which is not much at all compared to XBL Arcade and such) it's still bad, if not a bit better. And with trolling downvoters and mad talkers on there constantly it'll slow down the process of a good game getting on to Steam even more :/

Anyways, I gave them an upvote, love to see this on Steam one day! Sorry for my rant on Steam GL

AFAIK Steam GL only speed ups, not slow downs. I mean the game could get to the steam anyway, but with the GL if demand is high it would get faster.

I do believe that you're right in most cases, but there are niche games(like Break Blocks) that aren't very likely to get the masses all excited to the extent that more "mainstream" style games(like Project Zomboid) do. Consequently, I don't believe that Break Blocks is going to drum up enough "raving fans" to make it onto Steam via Greenlight, but Break Blocks is still a solid game that a number of gamers would enjoy. Probably enough to make it a profitable venture for Valve, but certainly not enough to make them a fist full of cash.

I'm not at all bitter with this new process; it's a good step in the right direction; it just has its flaws when it comes to games targeting a smaller section of the market.

It's fine to dislike a game on Greenlight, but to go out of your way to say you did so on this forum is very rude and disrespectful.

I'll be honest with you guys, it's not looking good at this point, but I truly appreciate all of the support!

On a side note, it looks like eM* got banned from the forums anyway, so to hell with him :D

We are working on a new game that should be available in limited form later this year and be fully released sometime next year(see our DevBlog for details). Because the new game is an action platformer, I'm sure it will have a much better shot at making it onto Steam. Apparently action puzzle games, like Break Blocks, just don't appeal to the masses

The new game would be available a lot sooner, but I wanted to write a new open source 2D engine for it with a full Editor and Visual Scripting system(similar to Unreal's Editor and Kismet). I looked around and thought "why should all of the decent 2D engines cost money? Everyone deserves access to a decent 2D engine and editor!"
