It's a photo of Joy Division, a band that was active from about '77 to '80. They pioneered the post-punk sound. They disbanded after the unfortunate hanging of lead singer Ian Curtis at age 23 in May 1980, and they only put out two albums plus a handful of singles. But their sound proved to be VERY influential, and their music is timeless.

If you're interested, Anton Corbijn (famous photographer) released a film about the lead singer a few weeks ago called "Control".

I thought so, just wanted to check because they look so small on this photo and it's not the one I know from memory (I kinda know most of their photos, it's not like there were too many anyway).

I watched Control last wednesday :cool: It's fine, remarkably down-to-earth movie, which I liked, because over the years I grew somewhat tired of incessantly growing myths surrounding JD and IC.
