Maybe horde or endless mode will be more of a "grinding" mode for players who want to level up faster and reach their perk achievements. That would be the best "reinforcement" to horde mode instead of unlocking a skin for a gun or character, new level ect.
Like I mentioned earlier, to benefit on grinding you would have to get to later waves like 20,30,40 ect. This would push the player in wanting to get to a higher level so they can level up faster. The further the wave, the increased xp...
Thoughts?
I think endless wave mode is pretty much end-game content for max level players. Putting in xp rewards wouldn't really do much.
The merit of the endless wave mode should be playing it; not getting rewards for it.
Are you saying the horde mode should be only for maxed out leveled players? That would make it so the horde mode would only be playable after the first few hundred hours. That doesn't make sense.
Sounds like you don't like the horde mode much lol
Horde mode isn't a "last play" mode. It can be like every other horde mode and be like you are explaining or it can have some HUGE replay value, which would be a lot better IMO
I'm saying that people that just started out with the game probably aren't going to be playing it to get to the highest possible wave. I'm saying the endless mode doesn't need extra rewards or anything since the fun itself is seeing how long you can hold out.
dependent on how the UI handles in progress level ups i don't think using horde mode to level would be particularly wise. the game will continue to get harder while your skill set gets left more and more behind. you'd probably have to switch perks alot in order to reset your stats to the new levels.Maybe you won't but I will. I think every mode associated with kf2 should benefit your character in leveling up.
Just having a plain horde mode is doing what most other companies do. If TWI is going to implement a horde mode, I know they wont do it half assed!

personally i think having multiple difficulty settings would also be pointless it may as well always be set to one difficulty with that ramping up each wave. there's no point to having 8 different server types not counting wave length differences as server as well
ie
killing floor, easy normal hard extreme
endless, easy normal hard extreme
and maybe
objective, easy normal hard extreme
story, easy normal hard extreme
each server handles 6 people, although i wouldn't mind the servers taking 8 people in kf2. if the game is succesful the server browser will be an absolute mess, if not there's too many gametypes.
then you can add even more with mods.
one difficulty for endless mode makes sense because you'll get to the higher difficulties anyway. i'd suggest starting at hard though. endless mode should be aimed at people who know what they're doing rather than people looking for exp
Let's see, another variation of the endless mode:
Each wave have a timer for a few minutes;
You must kill all the Zeds during the wave;
If the wave's timer reach zero and all the zeds are not defeated, The army send a bomb and everyones die, including you.
If you manage to kill all the zeds, the next wave appear...

Liking the idea.
Probably more intense than just "another two-hundred zeds" on the next wave
Will prevent kiting to a degree, too
I'm afraid this might turn into COD zombies and everyone and their mother will be playing endless wave mode instead of the orginal waves. So.....Yea..
