My only concern will be scaling. This means only certain classes and weapons will be useful at higher waves. I do not want to play endless with such a limit.
This assume that there is a mechanic will make each wave harder

There needs to be some sort of powerup you can risk collecting.
Something that counters the boring bullet sponge effect of stronger waves
Each wave becomes riskier and riskier. COD Zombies had these. Such as insta kill and nuke. They kept the game going even though the enemies took several clips to take down.

warframe is an unbalanced mess that started down a decent path then swerved straight into pandering to the nuke crowd.

all you need is vauban, nova nyx and trinity and the team is pretty much entirely untouchable. if this team you mentioned had a zephyr, valkyre, ash and excalibro then i'd be impressed because they had to actually use skills and fight the enemy instead of nuking a bunch of confused thralls while hiding behind invincibility and an impenetrable wall.

if endless mode in kf2 used the "difficulty" scaling of warframe it would be an abomination.

if digital extremes removes some of the grind and replaces it with some gameplay, warframe could become good again.
I didn't say KF2 should take anything from Warframe.
I just say, this mode exists in games and works great, and is fun to play.

And I don't even agree with your ranting at all... so chill, why rant ?

I think it's gonna be fun. I've been playing it a lot in Zombie Army, and it's ton of fun.

I honestly hope it's a mix between increasing speed and health to enemies each wave, increasing amount of zeds to each spawn area each wave and a progression of enemy types per wave (after wave 11 clots and cysts cease to spawn and more difficult enemies take their place like gorfasts and sirens and wave 30 should only spawn fleshpounds scrakes and husks). Or random waves could have random enemy spawns where only a few enemy types for that wave.

Whatever is decided I know it will be great!

While I'm thinking about it, the kf for the ouya or whatever it's called should be packaged with kf2 or programmed into the game

Nah, he means Killing Floor: Calamity. Which recently has gotten a mobile port, since nobody cares about the Ouya.

Never liked Endless Wave modes. Seems pointless when you always die at the end. Completing a goal with a group of varied people on a variety of maps is much more satisfying.

If anything, IMHO a horde game should at least include a option to end the game (win state) at a certain stage, even if it is "endless" by default.

Cool idea for a server: every time a (win state) is achieved, the level required to pass for (win state) goes up, every time it is not achieved (team wiped out / fail state) the level required to pass goes down. That would be interesting.

you mean so that afew noobs could play on the server for afew hours and ruin everyone else's hardwork?

Wouldn't be a bad idea to add Unlockables such as secret Characters or Weapon Camos as Unlockables to this Mode. Example: survive 20 Waves to unlock a random secret Character or Weapon Camo, survive 40 waves to unlock a random secret character or Weapon Camo. Basically every 20 waves you unlock something new until you have everything unlocked.

those would be terrible secrets. they'd be on a wiki within 24 hours.

unlockable customisation should be linked to achievements in my opinion

This would make a good mode, it would need to have global leader boards though of teams with the best times. Some achievements too, maybe a cosmetic item added to your player to show that you survived a ton of waves?

I wonder how buying weapons would be handled. Plus there can't be respawns for players that die. Maybe the mode needs a money sink like expensive defibrillators, it would make sense because it allows players to bring back dead team mates + helps prevent players making too much money.

Make it competitive where wave 40 you unlock a character and wave 50 you unlock a weapon. See how much you grind in horde mode lol

Small incentives give small fun. Large incentives give motivation and hope ;)

Presuming the endless mode exists, I don't think there should be any unlockables associated with it. It's not really fair to the people who don't want to play the mode. (As I said before, I'm not really a fan of the idea myself.)

I also like the idea of having the mode as a challenge for people who are looking to test themselves to see how far they can go. That wave number is sufficient reward. At least, it is for me (again, going back to the old school gameplay point).
I was under the impression that the proponents for endless mode had similar sentiments.

The hardest thing about enjoying most horde modes is that whenever I figured out how to best every wave I got bored. Easter eggs or whatever are redundant and would like a goal to give me reason to play. If there is a prize for being the most bad *** kf2 player, I want it and as we know leader boards are unsafe so a direct item like stripes or hearts can only be Issued by twi staff. You can make a basic mode or you can take it to the limit.

Whatever mode i play, which will be all, i would Hope would Compensate for the accomplishment achieved

I mean, I understand that motivation. But honestly, it doesn't sound like you're particularly interested in a horde mode if you really need there to be a carrot associated with it lol. You kind of imply that it's not really your thing when you say " whenever I figured out how to best every wave I got bored". Unless you literally mean that you've maxed out the entire "endless" mode. In which case, yeah you should probably get something at that level lol

I guess giving more unlockables for endless isn't too bad, but I'd hope there'd also be other unique (or the same) unlockables in the other game modes as well (or based on achievement progression) just so that people with differing play preferences in KF would be able to participate reasonably.

Change is good. Predictably in a game is bad. twi is always unpredictable and I believe their horde mode should stand out

I come from a long time of gaming where there were no cheats and you earned every minute you played. I know in todays gaming cheats are rampant so why not set a high bar that even cheaters fail to get.

The best gaming experiences is when a cheater failed and I prevailed

I like the idea of having an endless wave mode, but personally I don't think there should be any unlocks for getting far in it. Having unlocks connected to the mode kinda forces people to play it since we all want to unlock every character and skin.

Not to mention douchy players would be able to point to these unlocks as an offhand skill bar. "Oh I have the special skin for getting to wave 40 in endless mode", "this person on my team doesn't have the skin, they must suck". People were using Steam Achievements in KF1 to do the same thing, regardless of whether or not the player even cared about achievements.

I want to be able to play endless wave mode for fun and nothing else. With leaderboards and possible unlocks getting involved it could easily turn into a skill bar that you have to play so other players don't think you suck, rather than just a fun extra to test your skills.

i'd suggest not caring what other people think of your gaming skills. it's far less effort both long and short term.

achievements are simply an indicator of something you've done. having an unlockable that indicates you did something impressive can be nice. as long as said unlockable is purely cosmetic you dont need it to play the game.
