I think most everyone would agree the amount of MKB 42s and AVT 40s is out of control, when you are seeing 10 or more on each team. The power they offer in comparison and historically rarity mean these should be a much more limited weapon.

This can be remedied very simply by adding an elite version of assault just like the rifleman that gives access to these rare weapons.

The elite assault class should be as limited as the marksman class, with 1 or 2 openings depending on the team sizes.

The kit would have access to the standard assault weapon, and if unlocked the MKB 42 and AVT 40 depending on the team.

Let me know what you guys think. :IS2:

Even 1 or 2 mkb 42's is too many. Even if this gun was in stalingrad, and I haven't heard a single convincing argument it was, having it in a proportion as high as 1/32 is still too much. Remove it from the game. This is the crossroads where twi chooses between sticking to their "roots" of realism and gameplay or looking for dollars by trying to seduce the COD crowd.

1/32 might not historically accurate, but you cannot believe that Tripwire is going to delete a gun they spent time on creating. Realism servers can disable it completely if they so desire.

Trying to find a happy medium.

pre-release these prototype weaps were promised to be "hero only weapons"

the player with the highest honour in the serveer (or the player with best points if honour is matching) would be dubbed out in raggedy war torn clothes and called a hero
he would have access to prototype weapons, have morale boosts to his team-mates, and also have a higher supression effect on teammates if he was to die nearby

it fit in really well, with a game called "heroes of stalingrad"

but hey
now everyone can be a hero with their mkb42s and avts

im praying tripwire are implementing what was originally planned sometime soon
the current game is lacking a lot of what originally had me excited for this game, stalking the forums, and buying RO1 months before release

a lot of the features that were really "wow" have been phased out (and most new forum regulars have never heard of them)

i'm not saying it's a bad game
i love the game still in its current state
it's just lacking that OOMPH that was hyped so well

I paid ten dollars to access these weapons day one.

Suck it up, learn to adapt, and deal with it.

i have the weapons too through DDE

but i also paid for a game that was said to have these features in a well implemented fashion

as i have posted above

I'm 90% sure I can still take some kiddie like you down with a boltie while ur rambo-ing your mkb42

It just urks me that this gun that most likely didn't even exist at the time is EVERYWHERE

Adding an elite assault class would only add two of these uber weapons on top of the already over-represented, uber MP40's. At this point, they need to get permission from Activision for a rename to COD 6: Automatics in Stalingrad.

Sure do appreciate you jumping to conclusions about my playstyle and age.

The fact of the matter is, at the end of the day, this is a game. TWI are appealing to a larger audience, and that might just mean that you don't get everything just the way you want it. ROHoS is still a wonderful game to play, and it will continue to improve if people would just give it more than two days. They didn't have to have a beta. People just need to relax.

Now, i'm not aiming at you directly. I'm just saying... most the people running around using it clearly have no idea what they're doing. (not all)

And I agree, it is still a wonderful game - one of my favourites

I'm just really missing all the pre-release hype about heroes, scaled maps, co-op vs ai, and many other things
you have to understand, myself and other people were on these forums long before many people here have even heard of the game. There was a lot of hype from the devs here and they were great at answering questions and addressing what the game will be like
and now the game is not exactly what was hyped
It's an awesome game don't get me wrong
just not what was expected

perhaps it'll come over time, TWI hasn't failed me with long term support
As of now HoS just feels like that girl u really love, you hook up with her, go out for a while
and over time she changes into something else

RoHoS is my love...

I completely agree. As my friend, another RO vet like myself, said "The game is good, just nothing that's made me go wow."

Actually I did say "Wow!" when it came to the banter the soldiers throw back and forth during the game. It really adds another level to the game and I get so immersed in playing.

This is how i think everyone in the original RO expected the RARE weapons to be. Regular soldiers get Regular Standard Issue weapons.

Primary/Secondary/Grenade Options

Semi-Historical Solution:

German Hero Class
MKb42(H), MP40/II, PPSh41 w/Drum, Mauser M712 w/Shoulder Stock, G41 Scoped, MG34 w/ Saddle Magazine.
P38, Mauser C96, Luger P08.
Stick Grenades, Bundled Stick Grenade, HHL Mine, Smoke

Russian Hero Class
AVS-36, PPSh41 w/Drum, SVT-40 Scoped, MP40
Nagant Silenced, TT-33, Mauser C96 'Bolo'
F1 Grenade, Anti Tank Grenade, Smoke

Immelman - i shall join your legion! in fact, i'll make it into a group! http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/group.php?groupid=64

I was just going insane with my Ppsh against a team of 10 germans, im pretty sure 7 of them were using the mkb42

slaaaughtered them!
i ran outa ammo and picked up one of their futuristic weapons and used it against them!

Sroufe - I agree, the banter is quite awesome
sounds overall are enough to keep me playing the game during those matches that aren't going too hot
the game sounds amazing

Yes this is the impression i was under. This included dumba** things like silencers and dual mag mp40's.

I figured, "eh, its just 1 guy and he's supposed to be some sort of legend, i'll live with it"

but i guess not. given 2 weeks everyone is gonna have full on sopmod mkb42's and tacticool mp40's

yeah the legendary hero thing was quite reasonable

the realism players were ok to cope with 1 in a match
and others still got the funky content

Heroes felt more like a win-win scenario

and nothing will stand in the way of the pure ownage you hoped for, and now have received by paying $10. I know you paid for everything...but really I think it's too much. It's not fiar to everybody else. Let them have the unlock...but limit it

and I also agree...we need these uber guns limited heavily. The dual MP-40 was super rare (and still is) and there is little evidence the doppeltromel was even used in the ground war.
