E3 is hardly the place to be to announce and gather news about what's to come for gaming anymore... Not only do we have many more similar events scattered throughout the year (Gamescom, Video Game Awards, Tokyo Game Show, PAX,...), but even some of the big ones like Nintendo and Sony are pretty much organizing their own, private events, whenever they want.
I'm not saying that nothing ever happens at E3, or even that it's not fun to theorize as to what could/should appear. But I don't stay up late to watch the conferences live anymore... I just watch the recaps the day after and go after the trailers that really spark some interest in me.
