Bashing other games like Call of Duty wouldn't be the right way of going about things. I'd rather them talk about what makes their game appealing, rather than what makes it better than other games.

I think that is a good point. I personally hate how some on forums or wherever smugly detest games which they happen to dislike. People are smart enough to realize, if they are disappointed COD fans, that RO: HOS will offer a more authentic and genuinely better fps gaming experience than most other fps on the market. Plus, you can inadvertently drive away potential COD fans to play HOS if you begin to compare and bash that franchise. Whether you think COD fans are immature or what have you, they can reel significant profit to TWI if they decide to try HOS.

COD fans that find the latest installments of the COD franchise lacking in depth and character, ones which are attuned to more RO sort of gameplay, will buy and try HOS. I was an avid COD and (and Medal of Honor) fan until I played RO back in 2006. That was the sort of game which I always hoped would be made, and now the next installment is around the corner. The authenticity of how RO portrayed WW2 and the Eastern Front was what drew me to buy that awesomeness...

This is exactly what has always been wrong about BF3's marketing strategy/measure of success. They keep saying they're "out to beat MW3". Not only is that a lame goal (imo, since I honestly don't think it would take much to do in terms of ingenuity), it's also very very limiting.

I was one of those gamers who came to RO after my huge dissapointment with CoD2. I played realism mods in the CoD days like CKR and PRM and I just couldn't believe that after all the progress they had in made in patches and mods for CoD1, that CoD2 was released with all the same problems all over again...Their focus had shifted to the Xbox gamer, and it felt like a big slap in the face after 2 years of playing nothing but CoD1 on PC.

Straight away I recognised TWI were better, the simple fact that they were partaking in forum discussion was a boon, but the ongoing support for server admins and modders alike made the RO community something special.

I'm still a big fan of the BF series and I don't see any sense in bashing that game or it's players - each to their own. CoD and BF will introduce many gamers to the world of the online FPS and as OneBloodyHero says above, when they want something with more depth and tactics, RO2 will be waiting.

Still think that RO shoulda made it to E3, so many other sleeper ttiles it would have fit right in with and had it's own little section for it on the big game companies and YouTube.
