I always chose singles over dualies, its easier to get head shots, you conserve ammo.

Now with the fixed hit boxes, it makes even easier to wield just one pistol rather than two.

So my question is, are there people that still out there that go dualies?

Those make no sense to me.
You can't carry extra ammo and your ironsight gets all screwed over.
If anything, you waste ammo cause you always miss a few shots and are generally more trigger-happy with dualies than with singles.
The only thing they're good for is looking awesome in ZED time.

With 9mm you get additional ammo, only the Handcannon doesn't get additional ammo.

I'm pretty new to the game, bought it after the free weekend. First i thought, Dualwield pistols? NICE! Then i realized that my accuracy dropped severely when dual wielding. Now i use single pistols and sell the additional later if i find one. I need less ammo and get more headshots that way.

I don't think your maximum ammo increases when you have dualies. I never dual wield 9mm, but i do dual handcannon during the patriarch fight.

having dualies is really useful once you learn to aim with them. I get headshots all the time at medium ranges now that I've had lots of practice.

The main thing dualies are great for is providing you with a solid "last ditch" weapon. I often get dual 9mm's because it gives you alot of lead that you can pump out when enemies get really close. If you only had one you'd have to reload sooner, costing you valuable time in an emergency. I rarely get dual handcannons because the ammo goes away too fast, unless I'm fighting the patriarch when I need more lead to fly quicker.

Pretty much, I do feel like a bad a$$ when I get extended zed times when I go dual HC on commando.

Like that one bit on Hot Fuzz when Danny and Nicholas jump into the pub in slow-mo while firing dual 9mms.:cool::cool:

Personal preference.

Single is better for ironsights.
Double is better for up-close "Burst damage" IE: A Sharpshooter unloading 16 rounds into a Scrake's head will kill it, while only 8 shots won't

Dualies give you twice the ammo with twice the reload. Try both ways and see if you like it.

'Course, at $500 a handcannon, the $1000 dualies can be daunting for a non-sharpshooter to afford!

I prefer to save my money and/or sell extra sidearms to buy primary weapons such as the Shotgun (Support Perk).

I usually use a single pistol. However, when the mood strikes me I go for the dualies, simply for the rule of cool. There is a plus side to the dualies though. You get 30 rounds to blow through (in the case of the Beretta) instead of 15.

feels alot quicker for me to use the single. what i do is aim at the head then i right click real fast to bring the sights up then fire, i get tons of headshots this way. sounds like it'd be too time consuming but im quick at it.

I tend to get them as a Firebug or if I can but can't get my favourite weapon yet.
They help alot more than the 15 rounds, and I mainly use them for picking off crawlers and stalkers that get way too close.
When this happens with a 9mm, I often find my self reloading more than shooting.

Depends on what I'm using my pistol for, close-range or long-range. If I'm using it for a close-range backup I'll go dualies. If I'm using it for long-range (like if I'm going zerker) I only use the single.

As a medic I tend to find a second 9 and carry it around so if I ever have to run away grab those out and pop crawlers, clots and gorefasts well running away. Dualies are good for spraying **** tons of ammo out in the enemies direction but not very good for accuracy.

Like many others in the topic, I use dual-wielded guns as a backup - The handcannons, to be more exact.

I usually play sharpshooter, and having the iron sights on the 9mm is invaluable to me, but at times I do get overwhelmed for whatever reason, such as taking out my crossbow to take out a Husk or something in the distance to find that a lot of smaller mutants have come straight up to my face.

Single 9mm Pistol
Dual Handcannons

Dual 9mm is uncessary weight imo. What you can't kill with 15 bullets as a Sharpshooter you should've used a bigger gun for. Whereas the HCs you can either aim carefully or go full auto and shred the smaller zeds and buying 1 is the same weight as 2 so it makes no difference.

I only use duel 9mm myself.
Makes a GREAT last resort, if say you don't have the time to reload..

Dualies as a backup during Pat when I play as SS. Dual 9mms, since anything i'll be using them on won't live through them anyways and they have a larger clip size. Switch to them when chasing the pat down after he runs away, kill anything thats not him with them, and when catch up switch back to xbow and put the dart in the back of his head and watch the cutscene :D
