Recoil is affected by bullet weight and muzzle velocity, nothing else. I guess both is higher for the .50 because a bigger cartridge means a heavier bullet and more powder.

So much about physics ...

Yeah, though "muzzle energy" is probably a better word to use here than "muzzle velocity", IE a 40mm grenade may not travel as fast as a 9x19mm as it is a lot heavier, but there's a ton more energy and powder behind it, and a ton more recoil ;)

But it's not the only factor that affects recoil, it gets a little muddy if we add recoil-compensators into the equation, a .45ACP will generate more recoil than a 9x19mm, but a Comp'ed .45 pistol may recoil less than an un-Comp'ed 9mm, and then there's the whole "felt recoil" issue, IE we could take two identical rifles, only we give them different stocks, one with a traditional "hunting rifle" style stock, and the other a stock that is in-line with the barrel, and even though they generate the exact same amount of recoil, the one with the in-line stock will have less muzzle climb and feel like it has less overall recoil aswell, simply because the energy is transfered better from gun to shooter.

But this means nothing for the DE, it doesen't have a Comp or a stock (nor a special grip like the Kriss), it really has no recoil dampening at all, and i think that's by design really, i think they wanted the gun to feel as powerfull and over the top as possible, that's what civilian shooters would want in such a gun afterall, whats the point of shooting such a thing if it doesen't feel as impressive as it looks?
