Drop weapon, move faster

Might not be speed (or top speed), but acceleration. Not having a rifle might speed up your acceleration and turning rate.

Most people would drop pistol and grenades at spawn, only heavy weapons should affect running speed (and stamina).

this is good thing, it means less nadespam and having people pull pistols when I go to engage in melee

backspace is the drop key.

When playing as a Pionier, I typically drop my 3kg charge in order to not get weighed down so much. Then I try to maneuver my way near a T-34 and set it aflame.
