What you forget is that the Crate series #1 and #2 and all the specifically named and put together skin pools in the USBs quite heavily imply there will be more series. Perhaps seasonal items too to milk the money by being limited time offers (which I would despise).
So I would like the current market to grow itself out so I can do stuff. For example I really wanted to do a crate opening video for my channel. At this rate, we will be counting the 5th crate series by the time I collect enough series 1 and 2 crates to do a worthwhile video from them. I don't like that.

The drop rate is quite low, I will admit, but you have to take into consideration we're not in an irl market where the money changing hands remains for the most part, static. Once an item is rewarded to a player, it's here forever. Once more and more drops trickle into the market, prices will trend downwards (like those singular weapons on the market for 300+ dollary doos) and the market will stabilize. Collectors will collect, bargainers will bargain, the Microtransactions Lives Matter activists will bugger off, and things we be back to normal.

It's all nothing to me, I'm just here to experience that elusive thing we call fun, something many players of video games have forgotten. A few extra trinkets to wear and trade off for some steambux is a dandy little bonus to look forward to on the side.

Little side tip: if you're gonna sell, better sell now, the free weekenders are most likely going to crash the market with no survivors.

Edit: Got my second drop after much anticipation, a USB. I was more excited than I expected myself to be.

Still no justification for the crappy drop rate, when simila systems go with multiple drops a day successfully.

Some one on Steam is raging the rest of the community by claiming 4 drops in a week! :D
They have over 20 items in their inventory (maybe purchased or obtained from other sources.)

I think the issue will come when ppl realize there doesnt seem to be much consistency on drops. At least for those that are bothered by them!

I had like 30 online matches after the update so far and got no drop.

I played one "solo offline" long normal round today and got one drop (note: this was my FIRST solo offline round after the update).

If that system is (like one of the devs here said) working like intended, then this is one of the silliest drop systems I have ever seen in a video game.

Why are people getting discouraged to play coop-games if they want to get some item drops? What is the reason for such a stupid decision? I really would like to hear some dev comments about that.

Just got what looked like my second legit drop - the very same item I already had. Of course I don't have a duplicate in the inventory, so can't even tell if you cannot have more than one copy of an item or if they didn't patch fake drops yet.

Yeah I got copy of the item I already have unlocked but it was gone when I checked my inventory and I only have the single headband.

It's less like a Zedconomy and more like The Great Zedpression.

I've played a TON of games this patch and only gotten one drop. Like I dont think the game's RNG is even going to let me get any more items. I've carried a good handfull of games too.

I really hope some sort of pseudo random is added to the drop rate because I'm getting the literal worst of luck.

I've also fought hans like 24 times this patch and the patty about 5

So TWI, after you iron out the whole Zedconomy, with its Phantom Drops and all of that jazz, we, the community, wouldn't mind if you post a detailed list of the drop rates - Are they weekly? If now, how many items per week? Do they trigger by doing an Offline match? If not, why do the Co-op players have lower chances of drops?

Cheers

If they want to see the reaction of the community... way to go alienating the portion of the community that actually wants the feature! :D

btw... about 20 games this weekend played. Maybe 33% wins... mostly defeats cause of noob players on sui+. Ive carried the majority of those games. No drops. Phantom or otherwise.

This would require CONSISTANT drops to happen first, I still don't have a drop, this system is quite the joke, what is the rate at -.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001?

I have been playing alot since the patch. Maybe 2 or 3 hours a day, and I have gotten the same white hat 3 times in a row. I finally got a USB today! Boy was I excited to spend $2.49 to get a sweet gun skin. It was a battle scarred red ****ty camo for the Vlad ... Cool TWI at least I know i'll be saving my money from now on.

Annnnnnd this is pretty much the root of the problem. Random chance on top of random chance you have to pay for. People arn't going to keep buying crates and keys (which they arn't getting drops for in the first place) when you will end up with something you don't even want. On top of that if you do go on the community market for something you actually want since the drop rate is so low you have little chance of someone selling it anyway.

God dam tripwire, just make a store and release a gas mask item for 3 dollars, you know that is what everyone wants. No, im not talking about the gold one, you know exactly which one im talking about and for what character im talking about.

It's frustrating when you want to spend money on a company and game you like but the developers make it so dam difficult.

Exactly! I bought every DLC in kf1 (bar the neon/gold skins) and about 5 copies of the game to gift to friends.
Kf2 however, I have no motivation to buy anything because everything is on the stupid steam market and I really don't feel like playing the Sims with SO MANY near identical character accessories.

We are looking into reports that people are still seeing phantom drops.

I have gotten Mr. Fosters suit 3 times now out of 4 drops. I have only two items in my inventory :(

Edit: its also not the phantom drop Steam overlay bug that has been reported. I have yet to go to shift+tab at match end. I have got Classic Mr. Foster suit three times now and two of them were phantom drops of a different nature. I took a screenshot the last time it happens for proof.

I got a mask that costs 70 euro.

I will sell this mask for 20 and buy Ark Survival Evolved and probably never touch KF2 again. And I will stop my server aswell and start an ARK server.

TWI I saw what happened this weekend.

I don't need this.

If I was a masochist I would do much more plesent things involving whips and handcuffs ... not take part in your social experiments.

I was trying to look on the positive side of those Microtransactions. But now I just want out. I have my own money and I like spending it on video games - I will just find a game that sells me content and not - chance.

I am sorry TWI but you lost me as a customer and you helped me move out with your own Microtransactions system.

I really don't need this.

If you wan't to do something about it - add all the cosmetics as non tradeble itmes in the ingame store so that when I get things I don't like I can come and spend money on the things I want and like.

Otherwise after a year you will have only people trying to get someting and sell it and no one who actually plays the game and wants to use the items ingame. You need demand - rarity and time restrictions will go only so far if you don't offer people a way to spend their money on your game you will end up in a neverending cycle of - add more stuff to the market - people get it and sell it - no one wants to buy it - everyone forgets it - add more stuff to the market - and so on and so on untill you get tired - go free to play as an attempt to attract people who will use items to create some demand but it will be the end of it. And I predict this will happen even before the game is officially out if you don't offer your real players a way to get the items directly.

I got extremely lucky on my 1 purchase and that 1 purchase is enough for me - I don't want to buy anything more. My flatmate didn't get so lucky se spent over 20 euro for battle scared items and ski and doctor masks. He also won't buy anything more and the fact that we spent money and didn't get what we wanted makes us quit your game because I don't feel satisfied with my purchase and I will look for something that satisfies me more - another game like ARK like Fallout 4 or idk with 70 euro I can buy steam gifts and then sell them for real money in Kinguin and actually "cash out" and probably buying a guitar hero controller that I want - see nothing comes to "play KF2" and it will continue being so ...

get yourselves together. YOU NEED US the players - idlers and traders are not your community. The people who play and use the itmes are.

Wait... 70 euro, not .70 euro. You spent 76 USD on a mask? I hope I was misinterpreting that.

I've gotta say though, I thought my OCD would be killing me about this whole thing, but I think I have to thank tripewire for making this Great ZEDpression such a joke, I literally have no desire to buy or get anything else. I don't think I've ever had this happen to me in a game with collectible loot in 20+ years of gaming.
